It's been like that for months (so I've been told).
You'll either have to list them at 1111K each (so you don't take a loss with the tax) or restart your console each time you QS some.
Can they be QS on the website or app?

I have never seen it either, but the OP has a PlayStation tag so guessing it's on the PlayStation.

This happened to me. You get the subs but the game crashes when quick selling FA cards. Just list them on the market or ignore them at this point. SDS isn't going to do anything about it.

That is completely jacked! They could at least make it possible in their [censored] app

You can QS sell them by using the filter, Select Free agent, It is annoying to do this way, If you have more than one to sell on the page, after you sell one you have to use i believe the L1 to go back to that page, it looks like it takes you to Baltimore team page but just hit L1 and you will be back on the FA page.

Its been like this for months yes on PS4. I just exchange anything but the golds now (which you can still quick sell when pulling in a pack)....not worth the trouble

I'm not sure. I played on PlayStation for years before switching to Xbox for this game, and I never had MLB crash on me. I'm not sure what the issue could be. Though if it were a past-gen console, it wouldn't surprise me if it can't handle the game sometimes.

If anyone with a PS5 would mind testing this theory; fan you try to QS any FA Golds and reply back if you got this error.
Maybe it is just an issue with PS4 owners.

I’ve quick sold some FA golds recently and my game didn’t crash on PS5.

I own both a PS4 and PS5 and can confirm this issue only occurs on the PS4. PS5 Quick sells fine. However - I wish that the Free Agent QS would keep the cursor on the item just quick sold, but instead it always goes back to the upper left, which is a pain when QSing multiple cards.

People quicksell free agents? Not even remotely worth the time unless they are golds imo

I only quick sell gold and silver. I keep the rest to do daily exchanges.

Use the Filter for Free Agents once you sell one it stays on that page
