Extreme Stick Drift (XBOX X)

I’ve started splitting my time between this game and Dragon Age: Inquisition. When I play dragon age, though, I get serious stick drift that is not noticeable in MLB 21.
In DA:I, my character moves just fine. But the camera periodically turns around without my input, and the movement is quick and jarring. If I looked around like that, I’d have whiplash.
My controller is one of the earlier Xbox Series X controllers that were produced. If I were to get a new controller to replace this one (which lasted less than a year), would it last longer with the same amount of usage?
(To be clear, I would like a NEW one. I had a PlayStation controller that developed the stick drift issue, tried replacing it with a used one, only for it to have stick drift right off the bat. To ppl who return controllers to GameStop—if it has stick drift, either repair it yourself or throw it away. Seriously, stop turning them in in that condition.)

Ok, I think it’s because it’s on low battery, lol. The closer to death it gets, the more possessed it behaves, haha.
