I agree with you, but I don't play the game for XP. I just want those W's. I could care less about my 47th Home Run Derby pack of the year.

    With all this Double XP?

If I can remember correctly; their is Double XP until Dec 10th. That is 21 days away.

I'm pretty sure a majority of the people still playing have either already got their boss or are a few XP away by now. Heck, I only need 50K, and if I could stomach Showdown..., from getting my pack.

Since XP doesn't accrue after you hit 650K; not many people may play after they hit that amount.

Heck, I even mentioned last inning that I thought of stopping once I hit 650K and there was still a little over a week left.

It may just be me; but I really don't think we need Double XP right now

Double xp allows people to still hit 650k and focus on another game if they choose.

I understand both of your statements. But for me personally, unless I decide to start playing online; once I hit 650K, and sometimes 350K, I don't feel like wasting the XP.

But again, that's me. Other players have reasons to keep playing

I guess other player's reason to keep playing is that they actually enjoy playing the game. Shocking, right? I don't really understand your posts. Few days ago you wanted to quit because there's too much content left for you. Now you want to stop playing because you are "wasting time not grinding XP". Just play the game, if you enjoy it. If not then don't play it, it is simple 🙂

They’ve got the internal metrics that tell them how much XP everyone is “supposed” to have at this point and historical data on how much people play during Thanksgiving season. They likely put those two together and decided to bump the XP for the remainder of the inning.

FYI, in years past (when we had a permanent XP path), it’d be getting close to the time of year when they made double/triple XP permanent.

It's a combination of factors that are driving the decision including the game being like 11.99 on Xbox for black Friday. Personally I like it cause I'm trying to balance MLB, Forza and Halo MP so getting max xp while I play MLB is a big W

SDS doesn't make more money if you play longer since most people are not buying stubs or the game these days. They just released the last big content, there are no more live streams by SDS and YouTube even show content creators stepping away from online play videos. At this point SDS's focus will be to get you to buy in for next year.

I'm assuming at this point I. The year a lot of people are putting less hours in. I've still been playing here and there but I've been putting most of my time into Ghost of Tsushima.

It has kept me playing longer than I normally do, I usually am burnt out by August and move on. This year I have been able to take a week or so break every inning and have not gotten burnt out. I never maxed a inning program until this year and have maxed everyone.

That is an assumption. It is probably safe to say they are making less than they were in May but I am sure people who don't want to grind are still buying bosses and other cards that are new on the market and they may buy stubs to do so.

The bottom line is that if people are still playing the game in any capacity then that is, at least, the potential to make some stub sales. If people quit the game altogether then even that potential is lost.

I think that is the OPS point. Why would SDS do anything to encourage playing a game that they don't make?

The game is on sale for 10$, the double xp is needed by players who may have just bought the game or downloaded it on gamepass.

It’s honestly entertaining at this point that someone can exhaust so much energy into something they clearly don’t enjoy

It's encouraging people to STILL play it. It's less daunting when you can do it in half the time.

Not EVERYONE has the luxury of ample free time to put in 4 plus hours into this game daily. I myself have a job & at home my play time towards this game is limited between 1 to 3 hours max per day. I can get to the 350K XP mark for the top Boss Card choice pack within 3 weeks after the Inning Program started. It is now that Double XP Bonus within the final week that lets me complete the entire Program & get all the remaining rewards.

I see where you're coming from; but, technically they started the Double XP with THREE weeks left in the Inning.

So by the time they release the next Program and/or Conquest Map; most people will be maxed out.

I get it, it's kind of a bummer to not be able to earn XP which is why I love this rumor of a forever inning for the last inning that some people have eluded to. But if you are somebody who completes each inning way early every time, then you are never really wasting XP because you are always capable of completing 650xp In less than 4 weeks. If you somehow could save that xp and carry it over, you'd finish even sooner which kind of defeats the purpose right?

If you are somebody who can't play for several hours every day because of work, school, family, a social life, whatever, the double xp can be super helpful.

I don't think SDS is hurting their player base by giving more free stuff. There will always be people who race through the inning and people who dont have the time to hit 650xp every 4 weeks. The double xp is a good way to cater to those who play the game less, but benefits both parties.

My point is that SDS is not selling the game to potential buyers anymore. People buying stubs now are going to do it either way. SDS rolls content out as well or better than any other sports game out there. Those developers have to balance this year game and next years game far earlier than you think. You are looking at it as they can still make money this year. I am looking at it like they are focusing on next year and the year afters goals at this point.
