Evolution Mike Scott

I see his H9 is 120. Not bad, but do you think he'll be good online? Not that I play online, just want to know what online players think. I just remember facing him in the Ruth Program last year was pure hell!
I still believe if there was a NLCS Game 7, he would have beaten our Mets. I watched Game 6 alone with the shades down, lights off, scared as a Mutha 🤪 We knew Mike Scott was looming.
I think the game started in daylight. 16 innings of fun back then.
And why did the Mets give up on him? I forgot. -
His splitter is nasty online but his other pitches get crushed
Obviously I would still use him online with an all time Astros squad

I played against Mike for three years in College. At that time he threw what we called a heavy fastball. He was pretty dominant in college. When he went to pro ball he started facing pro hitters. He didn't have much success with the Mets because he was hittable so he was traded to the Astros. It was there that he met pitching coach Roger Craig who taught him the split finger fastball. He mastered that pitch and became very unhittable. The rest is history.

He might have played a bit with Joe Niekro and had an emory board in his back pocket LMAO. I know he didn't scuff the ball at Pepperdine

Wow. This is gold.
I read that he regressed in year 4 and the Mets totally gave up on him. Learning the Splitter was key.
Mets gave up on Nolan Ryan as well as you know, which is just incredible. Wheeler is another they let walk. -
Offline last year, the CPU couldn't figure out his splitter. Every pitcher is good vs CPU, but he was kinda like a cheat code when used correctly. Online, he got lit up.

Yeah, but can you imagine if those guys had half the stuff available today? Back then it was a big deal, these days what those guys did wouldn't even get a second look. Dont need to scuff a ball when you have something ten times better like spider tack

It would be the dead ball era times infinity, for the record I am not upset by him scuffing the ball, I actually think SDS should embrace stuff like that. Instead of Mr.Splittee give Mike Scott the Scuffed quirk, same quirk just more personalized haha.

For whatever reason, the CPU has the hardest time hitting splitters and slow circle-changes like Hoffman’s.
