So I bought my PS5 last year around this time. One of the lucky ones I guess. The thing runs great and all. But I mainly just bought it for this game. And they didnt allow 1440P gaming on the PS5 and MLB TS 21 didnt do anything special like 120 FPS gaming for this year. And with the PS5 still hard to find it seems, I am seriously thinking of posting it for sale and just going back to PS4 for this game. Hey, and I will be able to see starting lineups again!
Anyone think this is a crazy idea or does it make sense? I have a beefed out computer so any game that is available on PC I get for it.
PS: Also should have added PlayStation had just a 1 year warranty. SO I am coming to the end of that. Even though no problems who knows.

I guess it would depend how reliant you are on the online portion of the game. We know the ps4 struggles with major league stadiums much more then PS5, what happens in MLB 22 if they keep upgrading stuff like graphics?

Yeah, guess I am kinda hoping things get better by then, supply wise. But it might not.

Chuck if you sell your Ps5 I think you'll end up regretting it. I bought mine in January, played 90% MLBTS and just had to play Demons Souls (it looks amazing btw). I played the Ps4 version of MLBTS since I have it upstairs in the living area as a Netflix machine, the two are completely different games.
The Ps4 version was slow, and in game it was laggy, even on conquest. Reflecting on my experience with both versions of the game I can confidently say I wouldn't go back to the previous gen. I also don't believe that 21 was ever optimized for the new generation of consoles since there was so much focus on cross play.
Keep your Ps5, you already have it.

Yeah, that is 95% of my thought, just had this inkling as this game gets kinda slow and I dont fire up my PS5 to possibly make a financial move lol. Plus I hate when my hardware gets out of warranty.
Also 2K 21 PGA was a free game last Month and I kinda like that, but I think that is PS4, so NM. Even I can play that on PS4.

Weren't you the guy who gets a new controller through warranties every 6 mo or something similar to that?

Lol, no. I have had good luck with most my controls. And I dont "Kyle bash" them.

I had to ship my Ps5 one off since it had severe drift, the new one has been fantastic though.
But keep your Ps5 man. Do you play anything besides MLBTS? If you haven't played Demons Souls I recommend it, a lot of fun. Hell I play some Ps4 games on my Ps5 too.

Nah not yet. Except a little of 2K21 Golf. But got so many free games that are interesting. But like mentioned above, if I can get it on PC I prefer to play there. Everything is so much better.

Yeah I can't speak on that behalf, I don't have a capable PC. Always wanted one but they're quite expensive and I don't really feel like learning a new playstyle with the keyboard. Someday maybe.

I dont use keyboard and mice, I am a controller guy, but I understand the rest. Especially now can be expensive as nothing is available.

Keep the PS5. I have both (XBox X, as well) and it is a night and day difference form the older consoles, tbh.

You guys are actually changing my mind lol.

For me I guess I don't understand the reason to, you seem to want a PS5 again when MLB 22 comes out, so I don't think selling and then rebuying a few months later makes to much sense. I know you talked about warranties and such, but I don't think that is worth the trouble of going through all that.

Yes, that could definitely be a hassle if things don't improve. And as of now it seems they may not any time soon. Think I was just betting on my stubbornness at being able to get another one. Guess feeling confident as I got an RTX 3080 for my computer and a PS5 within a couple Months. 2 of the most rare things in gaming.

This thread is awesome for many reasons, most of all being so far everybody who has commented this far (myself included) have been regulars on this forum for several years. Not only that, you all always come across as decent people in other threads.
Chuck I’ve regularly considered the same thing from even before I picked up my PS5 and I’m still unsure. I’ve only bought one PS5 game and it’s TS21. And I haven’t played that game in months, in fact I put in about 100 hours (down 87% from the previous seven versions of the game) and decided to uninstall it and reinstall 17. Now I too have switched to golf.
I’ve kind of lost interest in games in general and I’ve started watching some of the many TV series I’ve purchased over the last few years. Currently working on Blue Heelers, The Heroes I and II (Australian miniseries set in WWII based on a couple of real-life missions), Alfred Hitchcock Presents, MASH. I even watched Bruce Lee’s Fist of Fury the other day.
Showing my age here
Maybe Battlefield 2042 will reignite something.
Anyway, enjoying the thread.

I hope 2042 is awesome.

I don't have a PS5, but this sounds like sound logic. I would keep it
