The current world series rewards are 400k and Arenado/ Bellinger/ Arrieta are 500k. If a kid spent 300 dollars to buy those cards with his mom's credit card he won't be playing this game much longer. Now I do think the BR program should be a bit more difficult, but anyone who suffers through 30(40 at the beginning of the year) Ranked wins in a month deserves the card just as much as anyone good enough to make world series
No they don't, not by any means. So you won 30 or 40 games; doesn't mean jack. Only ws winners deserve to be given a ws reward; the rest need to pony up stubs or cash.
I would rather have it how it this year than having 30 million stubs from working the market last year and physically not being able to purchase 40 cards. The only other solution would be to remove the stub cap, which i expect would see more outrage than the people that agree with this post. Also I believe you are an offline player correct? even if you tank for easy wins, 30 ranked wins is still a miserable experience
Why did you wait so long. I am an offline player, but still owned every card for the last five years. I just happen to believe that a ws or br reward should mean something.
First, if you are truly an offline player then you are a liar, since the Immortal Kershaw (and Immortal Feller, who was an event program) in 18 was an unsellable WS award.
Second, it’s a good thing SDS understands their customer base and business better than you do (which is why they made the programs this year).
-
This is my first year and I feel the programs have been a good thing. As I have learned the market, I see the purpose of the programs and it definitely caused me to get interested in BR. Since about inning three I have completed every BR program and earned all but just a few event awards. I do think the program was probably a bit more fair when it was one point per win...two seems to make it just a bit too easy, but we are late in the game cycle and I think it has caused more people to play BR late in the cycle as people are leaving.
When ranked switched to 30 wins I made a run at it and got to 25 wins pretty quick. I was something like 25-7 and got to almost 800...but I just lost all interest due to the super low scoring games. I think anyone who gets 30/40 wins in Ranked deserves way more than a WS award...it is just a beating to get those wins....but everyone has what they enjoy. My son loves ranked and has made WS and gotten 40 wins and 30 wins in a season. He never completes BR or Events though. We never fight about it and think it is cool when each other accomplishes stuff...we also buy the cards the other earns off the market.
I really think I could make WS at some point and might could have this year if I spent more time in Ranked, but I know I would lose tons of interest in all of DD if I was forced to play every mode to earn every card. I'm just sitting here thinking about players I love and if the only way go get the card was to make WS or go flawless, there would be a great chance of me completely abandoning DD. Same for my son...he shouldn't be forced to go flawless in BR to get a Jansen award to use on his Ranked team.

No, SDS understands that from a business perspective limiting highly sought after cards to 2500 or less copies when you have a customer base of several hundred thousand is only something a a middle schooler or art history major would advocate.

Got it. "It's not fair mommy. They have something I don't." Again, for their being only a so-called 2500, I still managed to get every sellable card (is that clear enough for you).

Go take a few businesses classes, it would really help you a lot. Let me explain this simply. Everyone paid the same for the game. Everyone who bought the game wants to be able to play with their favorite players. SDS wants to make as many of their customers as happy as possible (so they buy again next year). SDS realizes sought after cards having tiny counts and multiple months wait times on the market is bad for business. SDS fixes it the next year. One elitist who doesn’t understand business complains. SDS doesn’t change the model back. There you go. Enjoy the BR and RS programs next year.
-
So you never made WS or have gone 12-0. And you want these cards to be harder to get?
-
I never get why people care what other cards people have ... whole idea of a video game is to use who u enjoy

Participation trophy? The Show is a consumer product like Coke, not an actual competitive sport like real baseball. Get that through your head.

Make Flawless rewards non sellable and BR will be absolutely dead.
-
You all have to admit that every single person having the same exact cards is making this game completely boring.

I am all for them being sellable, just don’t agree with the new system where people can get them by sending messages to their opponents and boosting stats to complete the new program…..
-
Meh. At this point in the year almost everyone can buy whatever they want..it would be extremely dumb to go back to the old way and have cards locked behind literally 1000s of 1 mill buy orders..that was the most annoying part
I mean I wouldn’t call cards locked behind a couple weeks of grinds or spending 4-500k completely accessible

Here are my 2 cents. As a math teacher, this analogy makes sense to me. Hopefully others will understand where I'm coming from.
Student 1 - Gets A's in Math mostly due to their talent/natural ability.
Gamer 1 - Gets the best cards through talent (mostly).
These are your WS and 12-0 Flawless players.Student 2 - Gets A's in Math mostly due to their strong work ethic. Studies, asks teacher for help, consistent homework completion etc.
Gamer 2 - Gets the best cards through grinding.
These are your 30-40 wins in RS, grinding BR program, or working the market players.Student 3 - Gets Ds/Fs in Math since they have little natural ability AND no work ethic.
Gamer 3 - Not very good at the game and not willing to put in the grind.
There's no "participation trophy" here. That would be giving all students As in Math and all gamers (even the lazy ones) all the best cards for virtually nothing.

Oh yeah totally. I honestly forgot the players who fork over hundreds of real dollars to buy stubs.
I guess that is a flaw in the system. Rich kids without talent or work ethic still getting the best rewards.
But that's life unfortunately.
-
Every card in the game should be on the market with the sole exception being collection rewards imo
-
Players can get these cards on the market but it still not be good with them. So it really doesn't matter. You can either earn the card for free, or flip the market to get it. Both can be challenging.
