I’ve tried doing the 8th inning showdown several times and I haven’t gotten through yet. Normally this doesn’t take long. Any hints?

Don't play it. It's horrible.

As with all showdowns, take pitches...basically that's the whole game. I did it on the first try and I'm not even a good hitter.

If you struggle with his deceptive delivery, change camera angles until you find one where you can tell difference between his pitches

This time I got 11 pre showdown runs, sat back and waited with Sale and eventually won.

Take pitches. If you have trouble hitting the fastball, look off speed. If you have a runner on 1st, the cpu loves to throw the ball down. Don't start the pci down because the cpu will generally throw it up then. Creep it down right before the pitch.
