I have a friend who had 70 points on the Yankees, but then after collecting them all and winning the World Series with ten is still at 70. Will these points be added once new reward are added or are they permanently lost?

I believe 70 is the max you can get currently so no point in doing anything to give you more than 70 as of now.
If you are close in innings to getting more affinity, just wait until the threshold is raised and then finish it off to get more points.

They are permanently lost, yes.

I would assume their lost in the same way if you are at 249 innings with Yankees or whoever and play a game with a loaded Yankees team you’re only going to get one inning and it starts back at 0.

Of course they are lost. SDS doesn't want anyone getting the next set of rewards early. If they counted someone could just gain the points now, and then instantly claim the next set of rewards when they release.
