Event Idea

Just thought I would see if this might be something people would be interested in:
Theme team event. Here’s how it would work. Every card would be available. However once you make your first choice all of your next choices must be from the same team all other players not from that team will be locked. If say a choice isn’t available for a specific team then you could substitute a common player from any team. What do you all think about this. I think this would be a fun event.

Agree but seems the opposite direction they are going. Last year we had a lot more restrictions for cards both in terms of card type but also team rating. We also alternated between AS and HOF every other event. This year, everything is AS and all events are 99 so basically no restrictions.
Postseason should be fun as it at least narrows the field of teams to select from down but I kind of miss things like the Dead Ball Event, Prime Event, “Short Player” Event (forget what that was called) and things like that.

Sadly I agree. I'm probably in the minority but for events I like overall team rating restrictions. It makes one strategize and also leads to more diverse lineups.

Agree 100%. 95 is plenty generous as easy to work that in with a silver bench and some silver SP/RP. Even 90 would be welcome.
With no restrictions the lower rated diamonds never get used. Golds, Silvers and Bronzes always play crucial roles in BR but 85-95 diamonds never get used in any gameplay.

Only way your plan works is if all teams have equal quantity and quality of cards. Otherwise you condemn someone simply for picking a team with fewer viable options.
I suppose you could alleviate it by limiting who you can play by who you select (Braves teams only play Braves, Rockies teams only play Rockies, etc), but that would make matchmaking a nightmare.

But with no Cobb, it wouldn't feel right. -
I like this idea but I'd take it a step further and say all time teams. You could pick say Chipper and then have other players on other teams this year like Maddux. That way you might not be limited at positions.

They made us play in Forbes, Polo and Griffith but with players less than 70 power in one part and then super low contact in the other. Key was live series and inside edge but forces you to use some pretty random cards. Still remember hitting that HR in Forbes with Drew Waters

Dead Ball would really separate the men from the boys, that's for sure.
It's easy to hit with the monsters today, but try hitting with Ed "S#it#y Batter" McDougal, or stealing with Leonard "Lead Shoes" O'Hoolihan. -
