Reasons why I quit

Quitting on ranked games
- Opponent bunts and is good at it
- Timing window sucks. Supersonic outlier fastball.
- Opponent is a nibbler. Getting every borderline call on strikes.
- Stupid RNG errors.
- Squaring numerous hits with no reward.
- Horrible defense animations cost you runs.
Anybody else quit or is just me?

Just you

I did in season 3. I try to come back every season but point 5 and 6 keep driving me away.
Adding another one.
- Bad connection, lag is unbearable.

There are things and players I just accept at this point. A lot issues are connectivity and server. The competitiveness in me will not allow me to quit a game. If it gets out of hand which it has, I just roll with it. At the end of the days it’s a game. If I’m not enjoy it, I simply turn it off.

Games run way too long to sit through [censored] game play. I just quit and try again.

I don't think I've quit a ranked game this year. No deficit is insurmountable. #2 and #4 are annoying, but #3 just sounds like you quit when your opponent is good at pitching. You gotta battle through it and adjust. Eventually you'll get mistake pitch

You just sound like someone who will use any excuse available to you. You act as though the game is out to get you.
Thing is you only remember the bad stuff. I’m sure you get some calls for you, RNG goes in your favour, your opponent squares up balls that aren’t rewarded. It is what it is. Gotta fight through it

I completely agree on the nibbler games. Some dudes never throw two balls in the dirt and come back with a pitch that clearly appears to be a ball and the feedback says the last eight of the ball tickled the zone and it’s called a strike.
Then you turn around and try to do the same thing and yours catch more of the plate for a ball.
That is about the only thing I truly hate on this game. That and check swings being unfair and foul tips on horrible pci placement.
I don’t quit, but the nibbling pitching and free swingers foul tipping everything make the game miserable at times.

Let’s break down the sh$t show called mlb. Start of the year servers were a huge issue. Still hasn’t been fixed. Contact swing supposedly fixed, I don’t think it was. Pitcher stamina for starters is a joke, but a reliever will be tired in 5 pitches. Timing windows which is due to the servers make the game zero fun. Now there is a glitch in pitching that was brought to light so SDS can fix it, but most likely they won’t. I mean I can keep going but on everything that is bad, but hey it’s been this was since 18. They say hey look at these new shiny toys and the game still plays like [censored].

Nah that pitching thing you’re talking about mostly applies to Legend only. It isn’t a problem on lower difficulties

Actually I tried it in the event for my first game. My opponent was 46-1 and couldn’t touch the ball. So it works on allstar.

Yeah #3 pinpoint+outlier+20mph change up differential+ and good = 1-0 or 2-1 games. I love offense. I never quit in a offensive game. Its a video game bottom line, I want it to be entertaining .

I think people quit due to #3 against me a lot. They quit after 2 pitches sometimes.
I love using pinpoint but it needs to be more difficult next year.

Just waiting for Battlefield. Game is a joke. Constantly matched up with people over 1000 miles away trying to hit 110 mph wiffle balls while I am throwing slow pitch softball.
Pretty much all the things you listed are related to connection issues. There's a bunch more. One of my favorites is 99 base stealers standing there with their thumb up their [censored] until the pitcher almost releases the ball, then they go. I don't even try to steal most games because my runners will get thrown out. I now give up at least 1 non-pci hr a game. Been a problem with this game for a long time but gets worse when more people leave. The only people left playing are close to servers with poor to mediocre internet.
Look at pretty much every top player and multiple 12-0 banners. They are people close to Florida, Texas, Colorado, Chicago, west coast and north east. That is not a coincidence.

I feel you, Hof and legend can be very frustrating and boring when it's constant pitchers duels. I prefer a shootout any day. But you can eventually hit at that level with practice. I couldn't hit a lick when I first got to Hof, but after a number of games I started getting the feel for it and was squaring up the ball consistently. Pitching this year is what it is, you either gotta take the time to adapt or don't play ranked.

Me? I am a minute from KC with wired fiber internet. Almost the center of the US. I can ping anywhere in the US in under 75 ms. The problem with this game is there are allegedly no servers within 8-9 hour drive of KC and imo the matchmaking connects to the server closer to the person with no so great internet.
For instance, if I in KC match against someone in Florida it will connect to the Florida server because Florida internet (along with northeast and Chicago) is trash and that is their way of trying to make the pings close which screws the person with good internet. As bad as Florida internet is, it will still connect to the Florida server faster than my fiber due to location which makes my game [censored]. I am always matching against people in these server cities and it is a miserable experience.
My first 3 innings of most ranked games consist of me taking a ton of pitches trying to sort out the ridiculous pitch speeds and trying to get a pattern from my opponent. Reading and reacting to pitches like I would like to do is impossible majority of games. Basically guessing the whole game because you can't read and react to 110 mph wiffle balls.
