What does the PCI really represent?
-
I know the PCI is supposed to represent the barrel of the bat as the main objective is to hit the ball in the sweet spot. SDS has said the result is based on the location: High=Pop up, middle= line drive, and low = ground but lately, the PCI is kinda inconsistent, People including myself have hit homers off the PCI or just off the edge of it as well fly out when the timing is good and PCI placement is in the middle but it's not just online but on single-player like conquest and moments. I don't see this as a problem but a flaw in the game like the shooting meter in 2K

I think they have actually said PCI does NOT represent the barrel of the bat. I have, however, seen some screwy hits since the last patch (low line drives on balls I’m way under, home runs on balls at bottom of pci, etc)
-
I’ve been seeing more pop ups on good pci placement. Also many hits while the ball is not in the pci. If i remember correctly the pci does not represent the barrel of the bat.
-
I don't think anyone knows or ever will...
-
PCI is not the bat and more of where player is looking for the ball
-
I just kinda think to myself the pci is representative of the barrel and try and depend on timing. I try not to get crazy thinking about center pci considering I’ve hit many home runs where the pci is in the “vicinity” of the ball but the timings good. I’ve also hit many squared up balls that are outs. It’s basically a dice roll.

Forgot to mention that this game supports bad hitting: base hit off the ground and off the strike zone.

my theory is the inner pci is the sweet spot and the outer circle is the actually barrel of the bat. It would kinda make sense on homers on the edge of the inner pci.

Then what’s up with the good squared pop ups?

Pop up to the outfield or infield? I have yet to see a ball clearly in the pci go for a popup in the infield. For me, it's always been on the edge of the pci. Feedback isn't always 100% anyways.

PCI doesn't [censored] matter. Every game is a laggy warping pile of dog [censored]. I give up at least 5 hits and a hr every single game now not even in the pci since they want to match me against people 1000 miles away. Used to score 5-10 runs on HOF, sub 3 era and high of 976 rating. ERA over 4 now and can't get above 750. Can't get anyone out. Last game ahead by two and two non-pci hits followed by a non-pci hr. Game is not fun. Battlefield can't come soon enough for me. This game has a lifespan of about 2 months until everyone quits because of the [censored]. Done with the forum.
