Someone please help me with hitting

I’m very good a pitching so I can make it to the higher divisions but when I get there I can’t hit anything. I’ve tried practice mode and I hit fine there but when I get to online play I can’t hit. I’m either late or early on everything. When I do practice mode on legend I can time pitches up. I also shouldn’t have to play practice mode for hours a day just for the game to be fun. So if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Most players have a pattern in which they pitch , the WS guys are much harder but even they do to a certain extent. For instance you face a guy and its your first game of the day or your just off a bit, so they throw you a few FB high in strike zone and you miss , now they think they got you and after a few innings your smoking the high heat.....its all about picking up patterns and making them change their game plan......using players with high contact and vision will help also. Try and focus on how they pitch you it may take a few innings I don't start hitting sometimes until the second time around the order. FYI I never do hitting practice. My RS average this year is .276. - 3 years ago I was at .201 , using zone and picking up patterns help me. Good Luck. -

There are some rosters with pitchers you’ll face in DD frequently or you can make your own with your lineup and pitchers you struggle against. Max out the pitching stats and lower the contact on your hitters. Turn the fastball sliders all the way up but leave offspeed the same. Work fastballs/sinkers first until you get the timing down, then add in the offspeed. Doing that has helped me a ton this year

Hitting on legend doesn't help because the pitch speed is lower. Why I have no idea. The pitch speed for legend online and offline should be the same so you know what it is supposed to be. I have no idea what the real online legend 99 fastball speed is because I constantly see different speeds.

Practicing offline doesn't help much because there is lag online. So the online pitch speeds are generally faster. Also, the timing windows are off online in comparison to offline. The best way to improve is by refining your plate approach online. Take pitches. Wait for mistakes over the center of the plate. Vague advice, but it's the best way to improve.

Yeah. I agree with above. I am a lousy hitter, so my advice is somewhat useless, but there is a lot of inconsistency in the hitting in this game.
I think warming up on the difficulty higher than your rank online is probably the best approach. Take away the fastball and then adjust to the offspeed.
Try not to get enraged when your good swings go nowhere and hope your opponent leaves his pitcher in too long. Maybe you can rock the bullpen before the confidence is up?

lol Absolutely! Also, fling the tip of the controller at the ball rather than the barrel and turn your wrist. Your screen is vulnerable to cracking though.

hitting is so hard lol, my team batting averagfe was around 185 for the last ranked games I think I was 10-4 maybe, thanks to an era of 1. hitting degrom and all these guys this time of year is tough. idt anyone can give you direct advice othr than keep playing, and dont chase pitches

Hey man I get it, but I think ping, input lag,monitor refresh rates and frames per second are more to blame in this situation than the actual pitch speeds for each of those difficulties are. I’m fortunate to have a very reliable connection with low ping and a high end gaming monitor which helps out with the overall quality and smoothness of the gameplay. I have a PS5 with a hardwired controller so my input lag is virtually null and void. So I don’t see these issues that are common in these forums when it comes to inconsistent pitch speeds. So using the practice modes is extremely beneficial for me especially when I make the jump AS to HOF in H2H online play.

Nope you’re right, however this is a public forum so if you have some sort of inside joke with another poster than don’t be mad if someone misinterpreted the meaning of one of your post.
