I have a solution for sinkers!!

Make the sinker patern using PPP the same as either the circle change or the splitter, problem solved!
Sure they will still defy physics and have Newton doing cartwheels in his grave, but they won't be dotted every time.

The problem is, instead of addressing it, SDS is just loading every pitcher up with a sinker.

I'm surprised they didn't give Robbie Ray a sinker instead of his 2 seam.

Have you guys never watched Blake treinen pitch like seriously. These dudes really do have that nasty movement on pitches. If anything 2 seamers have no movement at all this game and sinkers are basically 2 seamers. Like I said before the timing window of the sinker is broken that’s why it’s so hard to hit

Movement is one thing, but a pitch going up out of the pitchers hand and then down is dumb. Also I would bet Blake doesn't spam his sinker/2seam up and in.

I can understand why you would say splitter, but circle changes are very easy to throw. It's a circle.

Most of these guys don't throw sinkers, they throw 2-seamers.
But 2-seamers don't break as hard to the throwing arm side as sinkers.
Guys like Maddux had insane break on their 2-seamers that made it look like a sorta sinker.
But a 2-seamer breaks more laterally, and would get demolished in this game.
It's an easy way to give these cards a really tough pitch to pick up.
Nolan Ryan never threw a sinker in his life. He threw a fastball with crazy run.
This year, he has a sinker. Go figure.I get mad when they give pitchers a pitch they never threw-- Mo Rivera threw 99% cutters in his career, but they gave him a slider, a sinker (I think), and a few others he never threw. Go figure again.

I would argue that it is hard to hit because it appears to be an off-speed pitch out of the hand which makes you hesitate. Warping pitch speeds excluding.

I could definitely agree with that. Should look more like a 4 seam immediately out of the hand

You are correct. Mariano never threw a sinker, like you said 99% cutter. He was famous for it. Batter always said "you knew what was coming but you still couldn't hit it". Ryan never did either. Kelly Jansen never threw a sinker, and hasn't thrown a changeup in 10 years, and even then the statcast says he only threw it .6% of his pitches that year(2012 I think it was).
If they could just make a sinker realistic I would be fine with it. Sinkers are thrown low, not high in the zone. They break out of the zone, not into the zone. And they shouldn't go up out of the pitchers hand before they break down, thats the biggest problem. With pitch speeds being so fast they look like a curveball when they are released and then they are in you. If they could just make them flatten out when they are thrown high I don't think anyone would complain.
