It makes no sense. They are not paying attention to what they’re doing anymore

None of it makes sense. They appear to randomly apply attributes. One of the greatest postseason performances of all time from Lou Gehrig, and his card doesnt even come close to reflecting that. Some player hits a walkoff on a random weekday regular season game, and his card is boosted to extreme levels. Its stupid.

What is the point if busting your tail in RS or BR for the best cards when a nobody can have one good game in September and receive a card just as good or better.

    Do attributes even matter anymore?

Yeah at this point, nothing in DD is competitive, or "ranked".

Then again.....it does balance out the game so that casuals can at least have a chance at playing against the die hard grinders with no life 😅

But they do need to tone it down a little bit at least. The die hard grinders should still have a little bit of a better team regardless..

I understand the argument for card diversity. I understand the devs want to give us solid versions of current players which would never see a lineup in previous years. I understand that this gives fans of a particular team more options for team builds. I think Topps Now cards in general are a great addition to the game. Plus, the moments are easy and give people who have been away from the game for a while (or bought it late) a way to get caught up quickly. All good things.

However, I think they're just going a bit overboard. You can make a competitive version of a recent call up or below average major leaguers without giving them 125 power because they hit one homerun which makes them better than 3/4 of the legends currently in the game. I understand 99 versions of the big names are eventually coming and will be even better...but come on now.

Understand that the community and playerbase must share in the responsibility of this.

Every time a card is release and there are 150 comments on Facebook that the card won't make the bench or won't start its an L. SDS has to respond and make cards usable.

Also let's not forget MLB 2018 and the idea that there where only 17 or so cards that where considered the best and the game broke down to the same lineup every game after July and people complained about that.

I don't know what people want anymore, they want usable cards but then usable cards are released and then their are complaints that these cards are to good. Like make up your mind.

Also trying to tie the cards market value to its attributes is point less cause there is so much more that goes into market value then attributes.

I get the competitiveness argument to an extent but remember that SDS is running a business that is designed to appeal and sell to a mass market and not the small % of people that make the high level of WS.

While I don't normally have a problem with the attributes on cards as I use a variety of cards anyway(and unless the attributes are real bad I don't care about the difference between 100 and 125 power for example). You have to admit that the topps now cards have gone a bit overboard

We could have that debate for sure.

I personally don't care at all the more bat s**t crazy these cards are the more fun I think it is.

I get the argument I just subscribed to that in the long runs its not really a big deal and that it's a game and it's ment to be fun so just enjoy it don't worry about of every card they release.

I sold BR Harper this morning for 320,000 stubs and bought Topps Now Conforto for 12,000, who has better quirks and equal if not better hitting stats. I could also sell AS Realmuto and put in Topps Now Grandal.

The Topps Now cards early in the year were not very good. Surprisingly, the cards being released now are endgame. As if somehow magically players earning a Topps Now late in MLB the Show's gameplay cycle (post Madded) are better and have better performances than those Topps Now players early in MLB the Show's gameplay cycle.

Honestly, these Topps Now cards are stupid and ruin gameplay. They're fake equalizer cards for players who can't earn high level cards as rewards in Ranked or BR.

I do find some of this ironic. There was a rather large debate over whether Joe Carter was "worthy" of a 93 rated card. He hit one of the more legendary HRs in MLB history, and it was a World Series walkoff. Now we get these insanely boosted cards (much better than Carter) for much more trivial moments, and I guess its OK, because diversity.

Might as well get that 99 Joe Carter card with 125 power now.

Unfortunately there is no right answer to this. Can't please everyone. These Topps Now cards are amazing, yet most of us don't use them. I think there is something to be said for exclusivity. It's like collecting in real life, people that are really into it want the rarer ones. There's just something about playing with rarer cards than Topps Now etc. On the other hand, these TN cards are great to the average player. With out these many people would probably choose not to play online and get slaughtered. They have to try to please both sides.

Well put. In general I find the cards fun and frankly are a nice change of pace.

As a offline player, I absolutely love the Topps Now Cards. It's great collecting them and using the players in games.

Last season , since it was so short, every Topps Now content was stacked w/ high diamonds.

This year they've made it somewhat fair but this week's TN are just awesome.

    Loving it! Pure F-U-N

I don't know what it is about Miggy, I'm struggling with him and might put Fielder back in at 1st. Which is odd to me because I've always loved Miggy's swing and even use it for my CAP.

Doesn't hurt my feelings as a Twins fan to take him out though. 😀
