I am having an issue lately, more so here in the last couple weeks. When I get a hit in a gap and I hit L1 on my controller to have the runner head to second, instead of stopping at second he will round the bag and go to 3rd. I have even had it where somehow my opponent allowed me to get to 3rd and he rounds that once again and heads to home. I don't feel as my button is sticking but I have seen my opponents have the same thing happen, just not at the rate I am. It happened 3 times last night to me, Twice in one inning and it completely killed my inning. Is there a better way to control runners other than L1/R1?

After years of just pressing L1 - i am now controlling base runners 1 by 1 tbh - it takes some getting used too, but its much better when you get used to it, and then stops the stupid overrunning as you're describing.

when you get a hit, you use the left stick to point to the runner you want, then press the base u want them to go to. i highly recommend practising on rookie for a couple of games first.

one annoying thing is that when playing online it isnt as smooth as playng CPU, but i find it much better in the long run

I need to get used to do that any way. I have been caught in pickles too often because of over-running. The issue is it will be 3rd to home...and then the person I have on 1st becomes a liability as well since I dont control individual runners. I'll end up getting tagged out in the pickle and then my other runner is now caught in a pickle as well and there's a double play when it never should have happened.

I do the above method as well, but I still hold L1. But after the runner touches first I’ll aim at him with L3 and tap triangle like my life depends on it to get him to stop at second
