Runners go back to the bag on clear cut hits way too often

The one that gets me the most is when the infield is in with runners on 2nd and 3rd and you hit a ground ball up the middle 20+ feet away from the middle infielders and the runner on second literally dives back to the base. Like WTF? Haha
Or you have baserunning assist, a guy on 2nd and you bunt to the right side. Half the time the guy on second won't advance.
I was playing last night and they hit a line drive to right center and I made a late jump on it. I dove for it with the right fielder, who missed it and the CF just stood there and didn't even attempt to back him up.

The runner on 3rd logic is definitely messed up. Man on 1st and 3rd no outs, infield in and you ground to short stop the guy at 3rd does not go. Why? After the double play the guy at 3rd is not better than the guy at second would be if the fielder ran and got tagged out at home. And with it not being a force a 6-2-3 double play is unlikely. This seems like baseball 101 but it’s not programmed into the game.

Press L1.

When the guy starts going back to the base before you have control and then goes into the long animation of turning around it is to late.

Baserunning in general in this game is still a major problem. This is just one of the many ways it manifests.

I hate baserunning in the game but had a first yesterday. Acuna on first with two outs and a 2-2 count so I steal with the intentions of if it's a strike I'm swinging. Pitch comes Acuna takes off and its a hard infield hit with the SS diving to his third base side and it's going to be a single and I'm gonna have a man on 1st and 2nd. Nope without any input from me other than swinging the bat Acuna just keeps on hauling it rounding second at full speed heading toward third and of course at that point I'm in no man's land and game over.

It was probably hitting L1 to increase your lead, that happens to me sometimes.

My biggest gripes with this is if I have a big lead. The opponent has someone of first and they steal. I go to throw them out and no one is covering second. I'm sorry but I am not of the mind that just because I have the lead I am ok with just giving them a base. I have lost to someone coming back on me in the last inning too many times.
The other issue I have and it happens to me often. My runner will continue to run past the bag and go to the next base. I will hit the gap and I will hit L1 to have my hitter pass first and go to second...then all of a sudden without my input he decides to keep going to 3rd.

I've even seen it with 2 outs. Balls in the gap and the runner goes back to second. I think it's the new way to keep a run from scoring.
RNG/DDA/Give it a name.
It's their cheap way of keeping the game from being a joke offensively. I play offline also and they actually tried a DP where I lined out to first, and the 1B man throws to THIRD to try to double my runner off! Never saw that one before.
Btw, does anyone know if there is a double play breakup slide in the game? -
Since this appears to be a gripe thread, mine is when I’m running for an extra base I take my finger off the knob and the runner retreats. It has cost me so many moments it’s unbelievable. I just assume the runner will keep going. Duh.
