Mine might be the time the Yankees and Tigers had a dust up. Gary Sanchez was throwing sucker punches at guys in the pile and I think I saw Miggy do the same, lol.
Seriously, when the 2003 Marlins upset the Yankees.

My favorite moment was when Miggy hit 2 home runs in a row against Mariano Rivera. The first one was such an epic battle that reminded me of Gagne vs Bonds

I think the show the video game further made Miggy an icon. Early on in DD he was a highly sought after end game card. It was basically Miggy and Trout that were the once in a season pulls that had you jumping up and down if you got them.

The game has shifted over the years to include a lot of flash back and special series cards. So a Miggy card is great to some, he’s not the sought after beast card from earlier incarnations of the series.

I’ve always been a huge baseball fan and that is what allows me to deal with some of the glaring flaws in the game itself. Miggy being a high rated card further peaked my interest in his real life career. So in that aspect, MLB the Show video game has made me appreciate a generational hitter like Miggy, more.

Always enjoyed watching Miggy hit. I know he’s a shell of what he once was but the guy has had a HoF career. I kind of hope he gets remaining hits for 3000 soon, I’d like to see him retire with the .300 average and 500 home runs but his average may dip if he hangs on too long.

Miggy should be able to finish out his career hitting over .300. His career BA is .311. It will take multiple Chris Davis level slumps for him not to end his career above the .300 mark

Figured we would get him at 3 EST... I haven't seen a tweet from SDS so I guess not until tomorrow.

    Disregard.

Honestly that is kind of generous for a 37 year old Miggy that spends the majority of his time at DH.

Good luck getting 6 TB in stage 2 30 min into this garbage. The rookie card is atrocious. Everything is a liner right to an OF and no chance of anything past a double cuz my grandmother is faster. Ridiculous

That’s what I’m saying. Love Miggy but he was never know for stellar D, pretty sure they just took the defensive rating from his Sig card

This HR with the rookie card is a joke...how man times can someone center PCI w/power swing only to have the ball barely reach the warning track. Do better, stop nerfing cards in challenges.

I agree, but I think it’s more to do with them changing the sliders behind our backs and making it harder.

And giving the AI an unfair IQ and speed boost.

Just be patient and power swing, the majority are on rookie difficulty just wait for a meatball and power swing, I was able to bang this program out in 45 mins last night and im horrible at moments and the game in general.

Fwiw, this program took about an hour and a half to complete. It has no time limit though so take your time, unless you need the 35k to finish the program.

That makes your argument worse, he has a career dWAR of -19.1. For comparison... Frank Thomas, who also played 19 years in the MLB, had a career dWAR of -22.5. You could also compare to David Ortiz who had a career dWAR of -20.9 over 20 seasons. Should be closer to Thomas (99) or Ortiz (99).

Fielding and speed aren't career averages. Its their single best season. Would griffey's best cards always have 85 speed and diamond fielding if it was a career average? Absolutely not. I see milestone cards as very similar cards to signature series, with a little juice towards whatever the milestone is for. They have said in the past that sig series is best speed and fielding seasons. Soriano wasn't a good defender in the second half of his career, diamond fielding. Also miggy having similar career Dwar to Frank, who played 400 less games in the field and all of them at first base, and Papi, who played 1000 less games in the field, all at 1B, when Miggy's worst defensive seasons were all at 3rd when Prince fielder was clogging up 1st is a bad comparison

To make things worse, Brandon Inge had to be moved from his excellent, longtime position at third base so that Miggy could be there. Prince should’ve been made DH or something to avoid all of that. Brandon wasn’t happy about it (why should he be, he was the greatest third baseman the tigers ever had IMO, defensively speaking) and he eventually was traded away to the Athletics due to the debacle.

I was a young girl at the time that happened, and Brandon was my favorite player. I was devastated lol.
