I went from playing 1200 RS games per year, to 60 last year to 20 this year, if you’re not dealing with crappy connections, you’re dealing with crappy people. Events have been kind of interesting…I guess, really only play them when I get an itch to take Superfactor Alomar online.
This sounds exactly like me. I used to grind RS like a madman, it's literally all I played when I turned my playstation on. Now I don't even wanna play one.

Sometimes I’ll get to the pick stadium screen but then my better judgement kicks in and I go play something else. It’s just been so disappointing the last couple years.

I’ve said this a couple weeks ago, but I would love for them to at least bring back a ping indicator like they used to have. Let us be able to see our opponents ping and if we don’t like, we can back out. This would help eliminate some bad games

Yeah, it was when online rated was the only thing. Did DD come out in 15? I forget when that came out. But there was a ping indicator I think when imagine dragons- radioactive was in the game. I don’t know why they ever got rid of it.

Yeah, it was when online rated was the only thing. Did DD come out in 15? I forget when that came out. But there was a ping indicator I think when imagine dragons- radioactive was in the game. I don’t know why they ever got rid of it.
Ah I've never been aware this was a thing. Now I'm even more baffled that they don't just bring it back, like what's the problem lol.

I used to do that as well, but they made changes to make sure you can't cherry pick home games anymore. So it's kinda off right now and I still get really crappy games when the menu seems fluid, so it's not reliable.

That doesn't always work. Plenty of home games with warping pitches.

Do you know how much it costs just for the upkeep of one of those birds flying around in centre field!?. Ping indicator is definitely not in the budget.

The game has felt smooth to me the last week or so for most of this event. I had a couple games here and there where speeds/timing windows felt wonky but I was still cruising and sitting at 25-2.
Then today, I couldn't see a fastball no matter who threw it. Orlando Hernandez looked like Edward Cabrera. I could sit with my PCI in the exact location and guess fastball and still couldn't swing fast enough. Facing the very same pitchers I was smashing on my way to 25 wins, all of a sudden every single one had Outlier even when throwing 90 MPH. I lost 4 games in like an hour because I couldn't see the ball, recognize pitches or ever catch up to anything. I'm not even going into the outcomes on my good contact because I can live with that. What I can't live with, is not knowing what game I'm loading into when I boot up. The game was unplayable this morning and after getting the last wins I needed for Giolito, I did my dailies and I'm not touching the game again today.
This Jekyll and Hyde routine with pitch speeds needs to disappear. If this game had dedicated servers and these issues didn't exist, I truly believe it would be one of the best games ever. As is, the game literally tells me if I should play it that day or not and I'm tired of fighting through that just because I want to play baseball.
I would be willing to pay a monthly fee to rent dedicated servers, too. I'll donate to a GoFundMe to get dedicated servers into this game. SDS can afford to do it on their own already from the revenue and I know this, but I would STILL give them extra money on top of the hundreds I've already plugged into it just to have dedicated servers in this game.

I know people try and dismiss demise, but since I live pretty close to Boston I have decent games a lot. However, I've noticed people who are across the country it is usually bad. I can't imagine across the ocean.
I literally sit with my pci on the inside part of the zone in same handed matchups and can't hit the sinker unless I swing as he releases. The game has to be perfectly lag free (rare).

Right! I’d pay extra to have smooth and consistent gameplay.. wouldn’t even think twice about it brother. Other than the show.. The only other game I play is cod, but the show is what I play 90% of the time. Baseball is life

Yeah, I believe Demise though. Just a little bit of lag is brutal for a game like this where reaction time/input is so crucial.
Edit: I know there will always be some lag. But give us a ping indicator then I’ll decide which game I’ll play.

That would be an improvement, but it would lock me out from playing against the main player base given the fact I live in Europe. It would be better to have dedicated server locations that we can all benefit from.

This is my first year playing and I have always wondered how online would work for a baseball game where timing is everything. This game has shown me that baseball can be played online and is super cool when it works...but the other time it is beyond frustrating. I am just glad to know I am not the only one.
The past day I have really tried to focus on my timing and see if I can adjust based on the connection, but that only seems to work sometimes. It really seems that the lag/timing issue can vary from pitch to pitch...but no doubt each game is a mystery in itself. I guess it is just a learning process to try and figure out timing in this game.
It is one thing to deal with timing different pitches, pitchers, deliveries, etc....but add in variable lag and it is just a completely different issue.
