On my left hand has actually developed some tightness and is sore from how I hold that stick

I've busted a few controller thumbsticks..that's forsure.. well the material over the controller.. after one season is ripped..

I work using knives and squeegees all day so sometimes I cramp up and get what I call "the claw" where I have to pry my hand open to get the squeegee out and wait for feeling to come back. Happens once in a while when I play games, never at a good time either.

I’m surprised I haven’t had any issues yet because if I’m facing anyone with outlier I get so tense I squeeze the controller so much my hands hurt.

I get that same thing and it sucks! The first time it happens, you think your hand is paralyzed and you flip out LOL. Now you just peel your fingers back and continue with what you were doing. Sadly, it's a big sign of carpal tunnel.

From my own experience, you’ve probably got tendinitis (or pre-tendinitis) in your thumb. It’s like tennis elbow but for gamers.
My best advice:
- Take something for the inflammation, if it’s inflamed.
- Ice your thumb in the morning and in the evening. 15 minutes each time should be good.
- Take a break video games, or at least from MLBTS, for a few days. Play something that doesn’t require you to bear down on the stick like MLB does. Skyrim is a good option.

It's actually called trigger release , I had surgery for 3 fingers a few years ago and now no issues. In the morning a little stiff but a huge difference.
