By your logic, if your SP gives up 8ER in a 9-8 win, your pitcher may have won that game but he didn’t “win” the team that game
Yes of course some instances your pitcher will definitely be the one who shines and wins you a game when your offense doesn’t show up but W and L aren’t the be all end all

DOnt have to wait long, I would have to give the main kudos to Kyle, duh. I didnt say Kyle wasnt the main reason they won that game. I was basically saying run support has led to most his victories this year. And he isnt horrible or anything.

Your rationale is old school thinking. It's what got Bob Welch a Cy Young award in 1990 instead of Roger Clemens. Welch won because he led the league in wins with a 27-6 record. Clemens was 21-6, but had a 10.4 WAR vs 2.9 for Welch. Clemens roasted him in every category except for wins. It means the Rocket was a MUCH better pitcher than Bob Welch that season, even though the CY voting didnt reflect that.
