Still nothing. Man, it shouldn't be this hard to get a response from a company when you buy there product year after year. If nothing else it would be a show of good faith. I'm from the south, and those things still hold value to me and I'm sure many others all over this country and world.
Yeah I agree, I'm also starting to learn towards the feeling of disrespect because I know Collin specifically has been active in recent days, and it's fair to assume he has seen this thread. Saying you don't know or need feedback from the devs, that's fine too that's an answer. But now I feel like this thread is being intentionally ignored and that's a bad message to be sending to a loyal community in my opinion.

Daily request for the mods to take a look at this thread and please provide information if possible. If you guys don't have the answers right away, that's totally fine- that's an answer too.

It would be nice if they could at least even acknowledge these questions in any way.

I mean it must be intentional, there's no way they haven't seen it by now. Imagine there being some company policy where an employee simply cannot speak out about any of these things publicly. Wouldn't be surprised the way this is going. Terrible look for everyone though, not gonna lie.

@raesONE_PSN
Yah the fact that they can respond to joke posts or game challenges from people who have had multiple bans over the years but don't even acknowledge this is rather embarrassing. -

Baserunning has to be fixed. Easily the biggest problem I see and experience. Especially when the lead runner never advances when you know it is a gapper, yet all the other runners move with no problems. This messes up everything. Let our stick input mean something! Sick of the CPU controlling my game.
I know it is more of a complaint than a question. Maybe I will word it this way. Why does the CPU control what our lead runner always does instead of letting us make or break ourselves with the choice?

I agree that the community deserves answers to a lot of these questions, but I'm not sure this is the best way to accomplish that. I know I wouldn't be stoked to take a seat at the table and dish out some answers if I'm getting pinged nonstop on my workplace forum.
Just because I don't think this is the best way doesn't mean I think anyone is wrong for wanting answers. SDS should do something like a weekly recurring series where developers/business systems analysts/whoever take a dive under the hood and open up about specifics of how certain mechanics of the game work with and against each other. How attributes are calculated. What specifically they do from a coding perspective and end user perspective. Acknowledge glitches/bugs and say when a fix is coming. Etc. Etc. Etc. And if not a weekly series, something else.
TL;DR- More transparency, acknowledgement, and openness is needed somehow, but I totally get SDS employees' trepidation about it being on here.

I do t think they can do this. It would reveal specific information and coding for any competitor to take I'd imagine. Great Idea tho.

@raesone_psn said in Number of questions about DD mechanics:
This thread is mostly directed to the moderators of this forum, @Collin_SDS_PSN @SDS_Jax_PSN and maybe other mods that I'm not aware of.
I've been around these forums for a few years now and I can't help but notice the lack of communication, help and/or explanations behind certain gameplay elements. All you guys seem to do is police this forum (inconsistently as well I may say), and even though I understand and agree that policing these forums is neccessary, I feel like you guys could (maybe even should) take on a larger role than just slamming the ban hammer around. This thread is not meant as a way of giving you guys a hard time, but this is genuinely how I feel and I'm fairly certain more people around here would agree with this sentiment.
So I have written down a number of questions that I have had for years surrounding DD and gameplay mechanics in general. It would be awesome if you guys took some time to answer them, as they are pretty straight forward questions in my opinion.
Note that I'm looking for numbers and metrics that we can apply, not for explanations about a mechanic or how it works/what it does. For example, in FPS games like COD they communicate the exact "time to kill" per weapon/attachment/perk and so on. They give you the exact numbers they work with. I'm looking for the same type of information here.
- How does pitcher stamina regeneration work in DD (how much % regains per X games rested)?
- Is there a difference in stamina regeneration between RP/CP and SP, and if so, how does it differ?
- Does the vision attribute only affect the size of the area of being able to foul off pitches, or does it also narrow/widen the timing windows, and if so, how is this calculated (For example having a vision attribute of 80+ gives you 5ms extra on the "good timing" window, or widen the green area on the swing feedback)?
- How exactly does the clutch attribute translate in Diamond Dynasty gameplay? I have heard it gives a "small boost" with RISP when the clutch rating is high, but exactly how large and what kind of a boost is given at exactly what rating threshold?
- Same goes for pitching clutch, how exactly does this translate for pitchers in DD gameplay? How much and what kind of a boost (or penalty) is given if the PCLT rating is at a certain threshold?
- How does HR/9 affect the hitting outcome and generated exit velocity?
- What exactly are the thresholds for pitcher confidence and what exact boosts/penalties are integrated with these thresholds?
- How exactly does yellow/red pitcher energy affect the outcome of the at bat? Does it only mean locating pitches becomes harder, or does it also mean that hitting input from your opponent is more forgiving, and if so, what are the numbers behind this?
- Does the baserunning aggressiveness attribute in DD affect how fast a player runs the bases, or is just a simulation attribute like some users have implied?
- How exactly is a PVP match set up from a networking perspective and what would be ideal to keep the latency as low as possible?
- How does a batter's tendency influence an at bat precisely? Are the timing windows for example larger on inside pitches, when the batter's tendency is extreme pull?
If anyone else comes up with additional questions that I might have forgotten, please add them in this thread so we can hopefully get some clarification on these topics. I think many, if not all of them, are very easy to answer if you have those numbers and if you're willing to share them (I wouldn't see why not?).
Thank you in advance for your efforts and I'm looking forward to your replies.
Added questions from other users:
- does warming up a pitcher make any difference? @lewisnadasurf1_PSN
- Does confidence effect pinpoint input and if so how? @Kovz88_PSN
- Why don’t you respond to your community? @Bounceman75_PSN
- Do hot and cold zones affect gameplay at all? @nash_524_PSN
Why is the feedback broken? I.E. the no PCI Homeruns
I have added your question to the post.
Sorry if it has been said but I would like to see custom batting practice pitch speeds for legend and HOF be what is should actually be online. As it is now, why have these speeds different?

I just had a better suggestion. "Nonstop" obviously wasn't meant to be taken literally.

But you said it literally. And I corrected it, which I believe is the appropriate way to handle it. No harm no foul, no offense taken so let's move on.

What I am saying is custom practice should be online legend and HOF speeds. This way you can see and practice what the actual speeds should be. You could also see how much lag really effects the pitch speed online.

Yeah I understood what you were saying, but what I'm saying is that the latency is such an uncertain factor that they can't possibly mimic that in custom practice. You out of all people know probably best that some games the ball comes in at 175mph and other games they come in at 70mph, regardless of difficulty. So how can you effectively implement that into custom practice? Even legend with the pitch speeds sliders all the way up doesn't come close sometimes.

I don't think that question can be answered because of latency being the unknown factor.
You can't. I would just like to know what a 99 fastball on legend SHOULD look like. You're right, you can't control the lag but I don't even know what the pitch speeds for legend and HOF really are. All I know is I see laggy warping pitches all the time. Just had one of those. Luckily, the guy didn't know how to pitch and also brought in Gagne at the end of the game.
