A question for fellow Cardinal fans...

Cubs and Nats went bonkers.. that’ll be a great Triple A series to watch. Lol I’m just glad as an Indians fan the front office wants to be competitive every year. It would be tough to watch after your team does what they did. As a small market team though,we don’t spend alot of money but try to make smart trades and hit on draft picks.

I will watch the first couple innings tonight to see how they pull off fillin this lineups for this one. Maybe if we show up at the game we can be selected out of crowd to fill in or perhaps the managers would take the field as they used to 100 years ago

I don’t mind the moves, actually. Gives us depth as we get healthy, and we didn’t give up anything thank the Lord.

I don't know. All I can think of is they needed/wanted some veteran left handers but were not willing to part with much. It's not going to move the needle.
I am just thankful that they never do what he Cubs or Nationals did this year and explode the team to rebuild.
I saw this on twitter regarding the Cubs / Nationals game
Cubs-Nationals play tonight. In total, they traded:
Kris Bryant
Anthony Rizzo
Javier Baez
Craig Kimbrel
Joc Pederson
Andrew Chafin
Ryan Tepera
Jake Marisnick
Trevor Williams
Max Scherzer
Trea Turner
Brad Hand
Kyle Schwarber
Jon Lester
Daniel Hudson
Josh Harrison
Yan GomesDefinitely doesn't move the needle, this was my problem with it. It actually moves it into the neg for the Cards. Gant, while walks were an issue still is a miles better P than either of them. And to add insult to injury they even throw in a LHP prospect for Happ. Like what!?!?!
The consensus among Twins fans is that they would have gave that guy away for used gum wrappers

Both of those guys are DFA potentials, NOTHING should have been given up at all
-
I was expecting them to stand pat and do nothing, and instead they put their best clown nose on and made the fans laugh, that counts for something I guess

Yes we did, we gave up Gant.
I always wish we did more but I can’t complain after getting Arenado this off-season but my heart skipped a beat when I saw story had a chance of being reunited with Nolan -

They are both just rentals though, gone after the season and meant to be innings eaters. They may be looking limiting Oviedo so he does not pitch too many innings.
Plus one of them is definitely going to the bullpen as long relief when Flaherty and Mikolas both come back.

Cubs farm system went from about #20 to #10 just like that. I'll take it. Them guys had 5 years to get it done again. They didn't. Jed did the right thing.

I see that Lester is endearing himself to Cardinals fans in his first start. 6 earned runs in his first 2 innings.
