This game is absolute trash. Fire everyone at SDS and hire programmers from MVP baseball. If i was as bad at my job as these guys are, Id be welcoming people to Wal-mart very quickly

Not defending SDS but you do realize that MVP was bare bones compared to what sports games are now right? You want baseball in the same hands that make FIFA, NHL and Madden?

Not denying that at all but that was a very very different time in gaming. Compared to the modes and extras that game is very limited. No online, no DD mode, no M2O, it had franchise, season and exhibition and maybe a few others like home run derby and made on a much less complicated system. Very different

The baseball genre needs fresh blood. SDS has monopoly snd they know it. Lazy development, poor programming, cant fix any problems without creating more… its sad for people that love baseball and want to play a good game

Why would people who programmed a baseball game 16 years ago on the PS2 and original Xbox be more equipped to handle an HD game in 2021 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X?
You want more competition? Fine. Competition leads to innovation and there is nothing wrong with that. But if you actually think a development team from 16 years ago that hasn't worked on a baseball game since would give you something better than The Show in 2021, you're insane.

I said on another post, I played MVP again recently. The gameplay was as smooth as silk, only thing it was missing was visuals. The hitting and defense were near perfect and felt like YOU were in control and not the cheap AI of MLB TS. A next gen version of MVP blows this one away easy

Can't say I've ever understood the "SDS has a monopoly" argument. Apart from shooters/battle royale style games pretty much every game has a monopoly.

My point is SDS is very bad at what they do. I dont care if a bunch of 3rd graders make a new game, get someone else up to the plate and make something that is playable

Bro you are a clown. Who are you to say someone is bad at there job when you have presented any evidence that you are in a position to Rare the employees of SDS on their performance nor have you provided any evidence that you have experience in programming to be able accurately evaluate the issue in the game design and how they would need to be fixed.
Calling for others to lose their jobs because you don't like how something is makes you a clown

I'd bet any amount of money that somewhere in some forgotten corner of the internet, there's a message board from back in 2006 that's filled with rants like "MVP 05 is trash! 04 was so much better! Fix your game!"
Memory has a way of playing tricks on us and causing us to remember things as better than they really were. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

I played it recently, silky smooth gameplay. Graphics obviously not spectacular but the gameplay is superb

Yes I do.
They are handling F1 2021 now and did a good job, so far to my surprise. They even put in a 'Longshot' type story in this year's game.
MVP '04 & '05 were great. We need comp anyway. -

Codemasters is the developer for F1 2021. EA purchased codemasters and took over the publishing of F1 2021

I think if EA designed an MLB game today..it would be better than The Show. The got much deeper pocket books.
TBH, I'm surprised they haven't thrown their hat into that particular ring. Would be interesting. Would frighten SDS to death, but competition makes things better..always.

No it isnt. I fire it up from time to time. So much wrong with it. Plus what do you mean silky smooth? So is this game I guess. If you mean runs great. You cannot play MVP online so cannot compare that. That is were the issues start on all games.

Look at it like this, outside of baseball and basketball EA has zero competition when putting out madden or NHL. There games have steadily gotten worse since they lost competition. SDS Honestly has made a good game since 17. Competition makes you better

I don't think it's lack of competition necessarily, it's moreso that ALL they care about nowadays is DD. I'll give them credit for making the mode extremely accessable to no money spent players, but still the overall improvements to actual gameplay and other modes has completely stalled since they introduced DD.
