I felt like contact was nerfed for a bit but I seem to be facing guys that are using it constantly again and still dropping bombs.

Anyone else feel like it reverted?

Averages had to have dipped significantly then while it was nerfed…People want to hit, They’re not gonna leave it if everyone is batting .150 & they shouldn’t. It’s supposed to be an exciting game not deadball era 1-0 games.

I never noticed a difference from the patch. I just think people were so happy they supposedly addressed the issue they convinced themselves it was better.

Yep. I gave up 5 hits in the first two innings to someone’s PCI which nearly covered the whole zone. And one bomb too.

MLB The Contact Show 21 is back

My average is definitely down this season but there are other things that could be done other than reverting back to contact swing.

One easy adjustment would be fixing perfect, Had 8 to 10 go foul on pitches middle in not even on the black this week alone.

They never said they nerfed perfect contact home runs, they said they fixed issues with contact swing - the issue that is 100% fixed is bloop, very late, off PCI singles are not as frequent. But yeah, if you perfect it with a contact swing, it still goes flying. I never saw a change for a single day for that - and it's rampantly used on xbox in BR. (Not by me lol, but everyone I seem to face in a run)

The issue I have with that is that they aren't perfect/perfects that are being hit out. Rather early and PCI barely touching the ball.

I am all for perfect/perfect bombs. I tip my cap to those. It's the ones that feel unearned that irk me.

I personally haven't seen many off-PCI contact swing bombs, are you sure your pitchers confidence at the time of those bombs aren't the reason for the large PCI?

Not disagreeing with you, just curious. My BR strategy is serious, intense patience. If they keep a guy in too long, it looks like I'm contact swinging when really it's just their confidence down the toilet.
