If they were going to do server maintenance that kept it down for hours maybe they shouldn’t have done it right when the east coast is waking up.
Not sure if some of you guys realize this, but they do it at the lowest traffic time possible. Most normal people don't wake up and go straight to playing video games. People must have pretty sad lives that servers being down is this big of a deal... when they go down the only thing better to do you can think of, is to come here and cry about it. It was scheduled maintenance.... life will go on even if you can't play the Show for 2 hours.

NO! Everyone should though. But I’m like a grumpy old man that stubs his toe. I would’ve never stubbed my toe if SDS didnt do that patch and then maintenance.

Today there was a massive CDN and DNS issue that caused issues on tons of services and websites FedEx, McDonalds, Delta Airlines and even PlayStation Network. It appears that the issue has been resolved and all services for MLB The Show 21 are back to normal operations.
Could you please explain to me why i cant play Diamond Dynasty online, i keep getting Challenge Failed after an opponent is found, is there some way i can resolve this issue? I have played MLB 19 and MLB 20 online with no problem and now i cant get into games

It's not just an update.
Server maintenance shouldn’t take more than a few minutes, unless there’s a big issue. There should not be a big issue this far into the game cycle.
So maintenance also involve, server patches and updates. Maintenance is not just about game updates... it's also security, hardware, and behind the scene things that keep things smooth and our personal data safe.
Also, situations occur during updates that are unplanned, which suck when it affects people. So, sometimes it does take longer depending what maintenance is being done.
