More games are decided by poorly timed swings than anything else. We've all been victimized by the very late swing bloop parade or very early swing dribbler through the middle so many times. I am convinced there is a higher probability of a hit when swinging very early or very late than when you line up the PCI in the yellow with good timing. In essence, the worse you are at hitting, the more hits you will likely get. That's terrible programming. Very early and very late swings should result in hits no more than 5% of the time. Currently, it seems like they are hits about 50% of the time. This takes a lot of fun out of playing the game online when you aren't rewarded for good swings and you're opponent is rewarded for really poor swings. In my opinion, this is the #1 thing that needs fixing. I don't need to win every game to be happy -- I'm fine if I lose because someone is squaring it up, but when most losses happen in this manner, it gets pretty annoying. The other thing that needs fixing is greatly reducing loud contact on pitches way out of the zone. Loud contact on those almost never happens in baseball. If you swing at a ball a foot inside, you should only make good contact 1% of the time regardless of your timing or swing placement. I'd like to see them institute a significant contact/power penalty for swinging at pitches far out of the zone.

Most of the games I lose are to players who are better than me. I can be real and honest with myself and my abilities. #rarebreed

Just played a WS game against a real annoying patient type of pitcher. I think it was 1-1 with my 9 hits to 1 hit and I had runners on second and third. Tough at bat and I was able to wait on a change up and put it dead center pci with good timing and it was a ripped line out to the center fielder. Next inning he gets two seeing eye singles off of mediocre swings and of course it was followed by the oppo blooper off the hands to score two and take the lead. I just got tired and annoyed so I started throwing it down the middle allowing him to score ten runs.

I get it it’s baseball and it’s just a game. Look at it like it’s a hobby and do it for fun, but honestly the scenario that played out in the last game just gives me a headache.

I also agree with your take on balls out of the zone. It shouldn’t be a viable strategy to just freely swing at everything.

I’m sure someone will link a YouTube video of Vlad Sr hitting a bomb off the plate.

This is a lot of online games nowadays. It’s why Ghandi always said it was better to just play offline.

My favorite is when you can tell the idiot on the other side has zero baseball knowledge. His first batter, first pitch swinging, out. His second batter, forst pitch swinging, out. His third batter, now anybody with even an inkling of baseball knowledge knows that if the 3rd guy up that inning swings at the first pitch, hes on the way to triple a, or the manager is fired. Its just baseball fundamental common sense. But in the show, his 3rd batter swings at the first pitch, hits a dribbler down 3rd base line for a single (game logic), then proceeds to jack oppo homer on first pitch with 4th batter!!!! This game is devoid of all sense, and the algorithm should be blown up and put out to pasture.

I wouldn't say those people have zero knowledge of baseball, When I first started playing the show I would swing at everything and it was more a result of impatience and pressuring to get the timing. I knew that I should take a pitch or two or wait for something in my zone but couldn't help myself at first. Part of the problem is I think a lot of people playing RTTS or vs CPU when they start throw it on beginner mode to pad their stats and then have to face real pitching when they play DD.

Your right on the algorithm though, they need to do a better job at skill matching between opponents. They have the ability to provide dynamic difficulty vs the cpu but it should adjust based on your play more consistently. You have a few good games and it jumps to more difficult opponents. Doesn't seem like you ever come back down if you're struggling at that level.

Just have fun. I just lost to a guy who had a terrible record, bunted 3x to start the game, and it froze. So I just quit. It's a video game, not that serious.

Gonna have to disagree here. My experience is that the better player generally wins. Not always but that's baseball.

Yes BS will happen at times it always has but the reality is this years game is hands down the hardest one. Between pinpoint, check swings, pci size it can be brutal. I strike out so much nowadays it’s almost embarrassing. I usually can sneak out the W as I’m 66-20 this year but my god has it been a roller coaster. SDS really has a tall task on one hand the skill gap has never been wider but on the other i bet there have never been so many ppl struggling like this year. I really feel as if they decided to make what was legend last year this years hof.

Gonna have to find the exact quote but Ghandi definitely said it.

I think PPP has widened the skill gap but not in a way that it should. 80% accuracy with perfect release still allows players to dot corners with ease which means you better be an elite hitter to compete. Average hitters that are patient or have a good eye get punished by average PPP pitchers more than average PPP pitchers get punished by good hitters.

That's a skill gap but not one the game should encourage IMO.

Oh the got dam dots lol. On the flipside I am also dotting like never before but I agree PPP has been too easy I will say after the patch it’s been a bit harder but as soon as you have the motion down it’s easy to get green and blues. I know they wanted to answer for offspeed being bad last year and tbh I think PAR was the best addition since you can see where the ball is going to go. But it is what it is hopefully they make PPP harder
