I keep getting getting error message to unequip or unsquad. Player is on bench not in lineup.

Hes in your event lineup then. Evern if you dont play events it automatically makes a team for you

It has to be in game. You cant do it from the website. Just click on Events in the play menu and remove the player from your event lineup
