Ohtani not able to play OF

Can he really not play OF? I thought I could pinch hit him or sub in in the field when he wasn’t pitching? Is this not able to be done?

Yep. I hate it. This needs fixed. Should be able to play OF when he’s not pitching and regain energy.

When advertising the collection for Ohtani, it specifically states "two way all-star Shohei Ohtani." I think that seems like a good thing to talk about. For what it's worth, I have the cards for Shohei but haven't locked them in and have no intention of doing so until I see if Ohtani is needed for a collection down the road. Judging by early reviews, it seems likely that the community just dropped 500k (or more) on a trophy piece that will sit in their inventories. The HRD Ohtani is actually significantly more valuable...you know...because you can actually use him. Very disappointing.

He’s a 99 pitcher and 99 hitter in a game with no DH, so he’s bonkers whether he can play OF and regain stamina or not. I agree that it would be more ideal to be able to start him in the OF, but just because you can’t doesn’t mean the card is bad. It’s still an insane card. And there’s plenty of other options for the OF anyways.

Tbh I'm disappointed in him. None if his pitches are that great. Gonna get killed In rs . I dont see his bat being worth the runs he'll give up. He should definitely have a of secondary or at least be able to pinch hit

I've only used him a few times in the event, but he got smacked around each time. My suggestion would be to bat him leadoff because if you leave him in the 9 spot there is a chance you may have to take him out before you even make it that far lol.

This was my dilemma. I knew I’d be a fool to lock in almost 1 million stubs worth of cards for one player when we’re soon going to get 30 more 97+ cards from TA4

Plus if you pitch him you can lead off w/ the pitcher and have a rotating cast of PH in the 1 hole for late innings of you need...

A big problem with this card. Also, you cannot use the 95 HRD Ohtani on your active roster in RF and let the 99 Ohtani recover pitch strength.

Faced him once and was up 5-0 after 5 batters, opponent then quit. That was enough for me not to lock in the stubs for him.

Why does his TA card have a secondary position as SP? (Note that several cards have this also). If they can't be used to pitch, then why list that as a secondary position?
