Do better

Honestly, with responses like that, I’m pretty sure I AM doing better than people like yourself. Because if you played seriously you’d understand that these are valid complaints and the balance of the game is way out of whack right now with so many juiced hitters.

I’m a first year player. I learned the game and made it to World Series in the first three seasons. However, playing in World Series when you have guys with 70-90 contact was challenging, and the pitch speeds are quick and you’re punished for guessing wrong. This is just [censored]. Every game is a slug fest and half the pitches I toss well out of the zone are handled for hits. The pci doesn’t even allow you the aim outside the strike zone and it’s still covering up to a foot outside the zone. Pitchers stats aren’t counter acting the size of pcis.
Do you think world series is easy to make? you aren't playing scrubs up there.

Impossible to strike anyone out short of legend. They drag us down into HoF and all star even if we’re regulars in World Series. The Pcis from every single player covers 50% of the strike zone. I throw a ball in the dirt and it’s fouled off forever. What do they expect us to do? Vida blue has 125 h/9 and every single player still has a tremendous hit zone. I understand people complain that hitting is hard, but this is a joke, they nerf pinpoint so you have to be dead on perfect to hit spots, and then they release a slew of 98s and 99s that can’t strike out unless it’s mistimed. This is no baseball game.
I don't think the game is pure trash. The animation is stellar. I'm still amazed at how the team is able to queue up animation that has the same look and feel of watching a real-life MLB game.
It's just not realistic or sim like. It's animation that just occasionally matches the instructions coming out of the controllers. Arcade is sort of a negative term, but the gameplay of MLB the Show is more Arcadish than simmish.
By the same token you have great simulations with accurate results (like OOTP or Strat-o-Matic) with horrid graphics. Also not trash, because the accuracy of statistical generation and outcomes have a lot of value.
Wish a game could have both. I would pay top-shelf price. $500..I would pay it.

No, I don’t think it’s easy to make, but the difference in difficulty, to me, was the pitch speed. I don’t see myself making World Series again, because people are free swingers and it’s impossible to punish that when every pci is 120 contact
-
Wow you think this game is trash. Your a 1st year player, we’ve dealt with it going on 4 years.
-
Have no clue how you’ve stayed around. I had so much fun for the last two months climbing the ranks and learning how to hit heat in World Series. Now all you have to do is time a swing and placement barely matters because they need to give everyone a 99 card.
-
Well Buddy, good cards are starting to come out. People will have pitchers with 125 H/9 and hitters with 120/115 Contact/Power. You will have to sequence to get outs. It’s only going to get harder from this point on.
-
Of course and I am all about that. However I am not about free swingers being able to touch everything and anything. I have not returned to legend, but I can say on all star and HoF the pcis are ENORMOUS. I get it’s a lower difficulty, but isn’t pitch speeds being slower enough? Everyone’s PCI is the size of the entire strike zone. What is the point?
-
You lost your last game 2-1, you struck the guy out 18 times.
The game prior to that, you were doing well with Lee, then changed to Harvey in the 4th and gave up 7 runs, seems like that was a mistake on your part, certainly not the game.
The game prior to that, you struck your opponent out 10 times.
9 strikeouts the game you pitched Paxton in.
I'd say you're getting plenty of strikeouts. I agree the game is trash, but your complaint doesn't seem valid from my experience....or looking at stats, yours.

What Scrub said. Strikeouts are overrated. I like to pitch to contact. It keeps my pitch count down, and you do get K’s along the way.
Regardless, by the end of the year, every lineup you face will be full of 99’s (if not before) so you might as well get used to it.

You should be able to tell if a player is using contact swing type. If that’s the case then pitch to contact, that type of hitters tend to chase a lot. Borderline pitches or slightly out of the zone will induce weak grounders or flyouts, especially now that exit velo for contact swings is fixed.

Edit: Something I forgot to mention is to be making constant adjustments based on pci placement and swing timing of your opponent. Tunneling and playing rocking chair are the most effective ways to pitch.

Absolutely ^^^.
You need to be able to read your opponent’s swings and adjust. -
Wanna talk about not striking people out lol. Pop in MLBTS 18 and come talk to us
