Certain batter swings slower to inside pitches?
-
Is it just me or does it seem that way? Is there any measurable for this or am I being fooled by the particular stance or swing animation?
-
Some stances are widely believed by the community to have slower swings, but I’m not sure if there’s any real data to back this up. But no, you are not alone in thinking that

I think it just how the ball moves inside and gets on you fast with the same handed pitching, I do think it is harder to hit inside with certain players cause of there swing and swing path. When I hit RH vs LH pitchers it is easier to hit inside and vice versa, how it is suppose to be I guess.

SDS has said in the past swings don't matter. But I don't buy it. There are players I lay off inside pitches with, Ripken, Piazza, etc and then there are some I look for inside pitches, Sheffield, Yordana Alvarez. It could be an individual batters timing window also. I don't know what affects that, if anything, but I feel that's where vision comes into play.

Idk how they can say swings don't matter and then keep pumping out Mike Schmidt cards with Max power that couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Swings definitely matter. It's the reason I play Finley over Soriano when Soriano has superior attributes

I heard Ramone talk in the past stream about Murray’s smooth swing. Unreal that they say now swings don’t matter.

Soriano if I remember correctly used a extremely heavy bat and had a long looping swing.
You wonder if SDS has programmed a quickness quotient in terms of barrel to strike point. -

To be fair it was two years ago I think. I feel they were responding to criticism of cards and saying the swing doesn't matter. I heard them praising Murray's swing too and raised an eyebrow. In theory it shouldn't if you swing(press x) in the correct part of the timing window, the numbers should calculate the result. The animation is just an animation.
