Pre -Set Lineups vs LHP or RHP
-
Does anyone know if there is a reason why you can't pre-set lienups for LH or RH pitchers? Or at least in the pre game load screen know who your opponent is using to pitch. This is a serious flaw because you essentially waste a roster spot if you have to make a switch right away.
-
Don't know about pre set lineups, but the reason you can't see your opponents pitcher is because people used to load up all righty or lefty lineups and back out if they didn't get the right pitcher.
-
Because when they offered this before people would back out of the game, before it started, if they faced a same handed pitcher.

It's not a flaw, it's a feature. In real life you don't have a bench filled with all time greats. If you could see your opponents pitcher, the hitters would always have the advantage, or the pitching team would have to use an opener to switch handedness and get the advantage back.
You should prioritize players that don't have large splits in attributes, and you should learn how to hit righty/righty and lefty/lefty.

I really do love it when people come on here wanting realism in an UT mode.
The irony is quote comical.

I get why you can't see the pitcher before you get in the game.... because people will back out of the game if they don't like the matchup.... but makes zero sense why we can't have a LHP and RHP preset lineup with our locked in rosters.

No, it makes sense. Even with a locked in roster you could pick guys with great splits and hitters would always have the advantage. You could have 99 Ortiz, 96 Seager, 97 Sizemore, 95 Jackson, 95 Dunn in the lineup against righties and then 93 Jimmie Foxx, 92 Mike Schmidt, 99 Soriano, 94 Aaron, and 92 Guerrero against lefties.
This isn't real life where the bench is filled with fringe major leaguers, and taking out a superstar who isn't quite as good against lefties means putting in a guy who isn't even good enough to start. No, you would have a HOF guy on the bench to replace him. Plus, even if your idea were implemented, people would just use a lefty reliever as an opener, your righthanded lineup would auto-populate, and then they would bring in Edward Cabrera for innings 2-9.
Pre-set lefty and righty lineups don't make sense for DD, and I hope they're never added.
