I know this is something that’s been discussed on the forums before but I need suggestions for my no money spent squad. I am also a Bronze 98 so I am nearing the Silver 1 Choice Pack and need help with where I should go next with my squad.

    I’ve completed the following collections:
AL: Orioles, Rays, Blue Jays, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Twins, Angels, A’s, Mariners, Rangers
NL: Marlins, Cubs, Reds, Pirates, Cardinals, DBacks, Padres, Giants, Free Agents

Current Squad (All Cards Currently Locked In)

Rotation (Normally I am a pretty good pitcher in The Show but this year is a different story)
99 Corey Kluber (Surprisingly not pitching well through two ranked games)
88 Shohei Ohtani (Best pitcher so far, but can’t hit with him)
88 Alex Reyes (Can’t locate with him at all)
    85 Charlie Morton (Average)
85 Jack Flaherty (One bad start) or
86 Mark Prior (Haven’t used yet)

Bullpen (Pretty Set, Just need a good lefty)
    Lefties: 88 Doolittle, 82 Smith, 81 Minor
    Righties: 93 Eckersley, 87 Yates, 85 Wood, 85 Isringhausen

    Lineup Options
Catcher: 82 Gold Created Player, 82 Yasmani Grandal, 80 Mitch Garver
1B: 89 Matt Olson, 83 George Brett (Surprisingly been my best hitter so far in Ranked)
2B: 86 Ketel Marte (Beast), 88 Whit Merrifield,
3B: 88 Anthony Rendon (Beast, but fielding is suspect), 85 Matt Chapman, 85 Evan Longoria
SS: 86 Javier Baez (Good at first, but has cooled off lately)
LF (I have many options but none good enough to start): Was 83 Gallo but I just got the Diamond
CF: 95 Mike Trout (pulled day one and couldn’t sell as an Angels fan)
RF: 89 Joey Gallo (Raked w/ Gold Card but not as good w/ this one, hopeful he picks it up soon

I have a few others like the 87 Willie Mays and 87 Steve Finley, but either they do not crack the starting 9 or I am not good with them.

Hope to hear opinions on who to get in the Silver 1 pack, Evolution Pack, Classics pack, High Diamond pack, and next collections or Face of the Franchise to complete. I only have like 14k stubs right now because I recently finished some collections but I’m working my way back up. Sorry about this being long lol. Thanks if you made it this far and respond.

I would say Larkin, reggie or minoso in that order. I am also level 98 ans am leaning towards larkin or reggie. Reggie would be a bench bat. I have 99 mantle so my best SS is lindor or marte. Reggie's defense would make him a non starter on my squad. Although if i pick Larkin and don't like his swing then its a waste of a pick. Heard Sandberg is good this year. I always suck with him and am in no need of a 2b or 3b. Minoso looks blah to me. I would say posey for you but it seems you will have a diamond cap at catcher soon. Good luck and let me know what you choose.

All of them are desirable. Personally, I'm going with Reggie first.

I took Posey but I guess you can't really go wrong with any of them. Although I'm probably taking Reggie last because his defense makes him a bench bat.

I actually don’t plan to grind my cap to diamond, I like playing with real cards of real players. I find it more fun. But I don’t want to take Posey if people think that I should take someone else and pick up 87 Gary Sanchez at my next classics pack. I’ve raked with Posey and Reggie cards in the past, and they are the two I am leaning towards

I am gonna choose him or Posey I think. Reggie for the lefty bat or Posey for the lockdown catcher for most of the year / until I get Biggio and possibly like him more or put Biggio on Second

I am definitely in a similar boat to you, I don’t love Reggie’s defense. But at this point in the year his bat is hard to deny, especially knowing most of the good bats at the point are righties

Just for for FOTF Gallo, he rakes and is a gold glover.

I already have that card but I could move him to left and put Reggie in right or vice versa if I took Reggie

I’m definitely interested in Minoso too, just haven’t used his cards before and I haven’t heard much about his swing.
I’ve never hit well with Sandberg and I actually am not super interested in using Larkin.
I’ve narrowed it down to Reggie and Posey, with Minoso being the outsider pick

I would go with posey. Reggie is nothing more than a pinch hitter. Fielding is a mess with good fielders right now. Reggie might be a nightmare on defense.

Lol. I’ve always liked Posey as a baseball fan so I may have to take him

I’ve heard that Reggie holds his own, but is not an above-average defender. I am definitely leaning towards Posey more than I was originally

I’m just afraid he doesn’t have enough pop to occupy an outfield spot for me. Are you hitting extra-base hits with him?

I love Reggies swing. And the way people are talking about how bad defense is,& how 99 Mantel is letting the ball hit of his cap. I’ve completely gotten rid of the thought of defense. Diamond shield defenders, gold, silver shield defenders I’ve seen cost many people games. I try looking at it this way: who is my opponent most afraid of to pitch to? And me personally I’d rather pitch to Posey, Larkin, Minoso, & Sandberg over Mr. October. But eventually we’ll get all 5 of them😃

Good to know. And true that we will get them all at some point but for some that may take a while. I didn’t get my final two last year until around November I think so I need to be careful with who I choose, especially for silver 1 since it’s so early

Thanks to everyone who has given me the great advice on these cards but I think I’ve decided on where I am going to go next. I think I am going to take Posey at Silver 1, Carlos Gonzalez for the next Evo pack and move either him or Trout to left, Morton or Mondesi in the next classics pack, and Newhouser in the next High Diamond pack. Lmk what you guys think of this approach.
