Ok I have really gotten the feel for hitting and pitching in this game. I still may not be good yet I don't know. My record for online rated is 11-2. Here is what happened. I was 10-1(I lost one game cause I had to quit it in 2nd inning) last night and I faced this guy. In 1st inning, I noticed he was cracking balls that were way place out of zone high and low purposefully cause he was hitting everything I threw because I had 2 strikes on him but when thencount was not 3 strikes he would literally let balls go by that were fractions from strike zone, very unlike other players. I also have about 80 games under my belt in DD so I'm no rookie. He did jump out on me 2 to 0 in the 1st inning. In the 2nd inning, I hit a bomb(had another hit) and made it 2-1. Here is the odd thing. After noticing he was contacting the ball extremely well in the fist inning, he goes on to get around 8 or 10 STRAIGHT hits on me in 2nd inning without me recording an out. Wtf?? I literally couldn't sneak ANYTHING by him. I changed pitchers and didn't help a thing. Where I would normally get outs, he would crush everything with a "perfect" contact. Another odd thing was all his hits were literally going into areas I had to literally run forever to run down balls. To me that was weird. Most players I face that get hits are right at my defensive players and mostly hold runners to singles. He was hitting multiple extra base hits almost like he was controlling exactly where he wanted to place the ball in areas I had to chase far to get the ball. I will admit i was just dumb founded. Ive thrown a couple no hitters and I pride myself on holding hits to a minimum in a game....so after the score went from 2 to 1 to 12 to 1 that fast without even recording an out in the 2nd, I left the game because I felt like something wasn't right. I have no answer for what I saw. It wasn't natural. I know haters are gonna say I suck and that's fine but what happened was not normal, if you want to play a custom game against me, ill gladly play you and u make the decision on my lvl of play. Not to mention if this game is sbmm...why in the Frick is a player of this magnitude hitting wise even doing playing against me. Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

All I can say is 80 games is nothing mate. I’ve played about 270 so far this game and I’m terrible.

You’re talking about players with 2-3000 games under their belt. They know this game. Yes. People are that good.

As Catfish Hunter said, “the sun don’t shine on the same dog’s [censored] every day.”

Not throwing shade your way… and you’re likely better than me, but I always start out pretty strong in RS, winning the vast majority of the first 15 or so, but sometimes you run into someone really good who’s just starting a run. Some people are preternaturally good at this game, and there’s nothing that us regular folk can do but wonder how they do it.

I just try to remind myself how much of your real life you need to sacrifice to get that good, and then I put the controller down, kiss my daughter on the forehead, and go about my life.

You probably had a bad run of luck when a very good player had a good one. Sounds like you’ll still win most of your games… best of luck to you.

It's not true SBMM it's a rating system that over time would result in sbmm pending all people playing a similar enough base amount.

Be sure to check your difficulty settings in online rated sounds like you had guess pitch and rookie on.

Just because they have a Xbox logo doesn't mean they are new. A huge amount of people made the switch after years of playing PS4. And are you talking about online rated? Or ranked seasons?

The guy had 2 days played on this game. I have 13d played. He had to have been on another platform to be that good.

Two things….some guys are that good and every once in a while it seems like the game is programmed to give you a melt down inning where everything is a bomb or one of those annoying gappers you described.

Got ya. It was a horrible inning not evening recording an out. I mean. His hits were 4 ft high, rocket fast, line drives that hit medium distance gaps or lines and rolled to fence in all directions when they weren't bombs

Just curious has anyone ever given up 8 or 9 hits , straight , no walks, without recording an out? I have heard of strings of hits of course in the real game but without recording an out? Lol...I just ended game cause I felt cheated on.

Yes and I had the same feeling. I’ve played a lot of games so I’ve come to the conclusion that I mentioned. Combination of game programming and your opponent seeing the ball well.

I’ve had offensive innings like that and the next game I can’t get anything going. It’s something with the game or connection or something. A lot of guys on here have discussed how it seems some people are always on the good side of the connection and pitches look like lobbed up beach balls when you are on the good side of it.

Some guys are that good, and as stated previously, the amount of time it takes to get that good isn't worth it if you have any life outside of video games.
I just switched from directional to zone, and even I am laughing at some of the hits I'm getting. I shouldn't even be able to get the bat to a lot of them.
If I'm a zone novice and am hitting the ball everywhere, imagine how good the players who never leave their basement are!

    Don't sweat an a## kicking.
