Dear SDS. Changing accept quit to X (PS) and A (XBox) is a bad move. Please don't do it.

This is a horrendous idea!!!!! All someone needs to do is send a friendly quit between innings now and if I'm pressing x to skip cut scenes I'll accept a friendly. I can't count the amount of times where I've had the "Lost Connection to opponent" notification pop up and be cleared so fast that I didn't even read it because I was trying to skip.

This is a horrendous idea. Please don't implement this in your update today as your patch notes indicate.

But you can pause during cut scenes and a quick enough user could exploit this.

You know what, you're right. This is probably a non-issue now that I think about it logically. No one can send a friendly if I'm trying to skip.

    N/m. Carry on.

No, it’s terrible. What about when you are in pause yourself and selecting your bullpen, looking at your opponents bench, looking at the pitch chart, etc

All those things take hitting X and all your opponent has to do is pause and send the FQ request and hope you hit the button while moving through your menus.

It’s crazy they’d change something like this. I really hope they added a confirmation or something so you have to hit X more than once or this is the dumbest thing they’ve done.

This was my first thought when I saw this change. I can’t imagine what prompted them to feel it was a necessary change. If it ain’t broke….

I'm sure this idea has been thrown around before, but in RS and Events (which are competitive modes with something on the line) I have absolutely no idea why FQ is even a thing. If you want to quit, then quit. Take the L. If not, play it out and lets find out who the winner is. I think FQ should be for casual mode games only.

    100% agree

But then how would top players constantly avoid each other until they find a matchup favorable to them?

I get offered a friendly quit almost every game. I don’t send them myself but I’ll be honest, I do accept them at times. In the past couple of weeks I’ve had 2 guys with top 50 banners send FQs (which I did accept) before a pitch was thrown.

And before all the guys come our defending that: No, we weren’t at a major league park. No, there was no lag or even a pitch thrown to see if there was lag. No, we didn’t have the same pitcher on the mound for the weirdos who think that’s a valid reason to friendly quit

And I know I can’t completely bash it since I will accept FQs. I feel like I’m only half protesting it by never sending FQs and the other half is a hypocrite for accepting FQs from good players. It would be much better for the game if they just remove it completely though

[censored] you're right. They need to make it something like triangle, something not often used. And then have an "are you sure: confirmation.

Yea this was a pretty stupid change. I’ve never understood how people accidentally accepted friendly quits by pressing square. Changing it to X is going to cause a lot this now especially if someone catches you in your pause menu and your clicking away at things. This one is a head scratcher to say the least.

These are the same Devs that removed practice swing to speed up time and kept R2 holding in the game so people can have half a second to get ready. They usually make the wrong decision.

Appreciate the honesty, it’s refreshing. So annoying seeing streamers like YFK friendly quit everyone he recognizes so he can noob hunt and then turn around and claim that he’s so amazing and the best at the game.

I feel like most of the top players avoid playing each other at all costs

What they should've done is added another screen that asks if you really wanted to accept a Friendly Quit.

I mean they did it with simming Conquest games. Why not online game?

this decision really baffles me honestly, this wasn't really an issue and if anything people complained that it was too easy to accidently accept a friendly quit so what does SDS do... make it easier to accidently friendly quit SMH...

I have a feeling I am going to be accepting friendly quits every game. I am a user who constantly presses x to hurry up the cutscenes. When opponents goes in pause I usually look over their bullpen and lineup and go back and forth on the tabs and press x a lot.

When ever the oppo pauses I literally grip my controller from the base and wrap my fingers around the controller underneath wel away from the buttons. Just in case.

With this now being changed I may actually just put the controller down completely

You cant pause doing inning changes. Period. You're [censored] fault if you're spamming buttons once the new inning has started. Clown.

I didn't even know they changed it from square so I pressed x to view who my opponent had warmed up in their bullpen and they, very quickly, paused and sent a friendly at the exact moment I pressed x to view bullpen. Idk why they would change this.
