Market place advice

So I have about 5 cards of a certain player who I'm trying to sell.
I notice that someone is trying to sell 45 or this same card at 2300. Fair enough I put my cards at 2299. He starts deleting his orders and moving them below mine. Again, fair enough, I'll play this game. Again he moves his orders below mine except this time he put his orders all the way down to 2000 and each order he puts them 1 less. So 2000,1999,1998,1997 so on and so forth.
Is it best just to put my cards in at the original 2299 and forget it or is this guy going to make it to where the card prices stay in the 1900s
Edit. I know it's the guys prerogative to do whatever he wants with his cards, I'm cool with that, I'm just curious what some of yall do with these people.

I’d list it at your original price and wait it out. Or at least wait 15-20 minutes for him to not be watching the card like a hawk. If it doesn’t sell now, it more than likely will overnight.

Get him to lower even more til you get to the point of buying all of his so you can sell to your original listing and make a bit of profit on each one lol
