After warming up a few games wanted to close my night with showdown, targeting that Gallo. Had a fair draft, including said Gallo, Olson (LS), solid lefties all around, ready to go. Win the first 4 moments, lose the next three: no runs against manaea, K trout only to give up the GS to rendon, and decide it’s a lost cause so let’s just jump to the end and close out my night.

Down 4-15 against AS Verlander I sit until either 2 strikes or center high FB for EVERY batter. Slowly find a few hits, a few home runs (2 + 3 run shots), and slowly realize JVs pitch count is 80s and I have 8 outs and 4 runs left. You’re saying there’s a chance.

I don’t change approach, get guys on 2nd and 3rd, hit a 3 run HR with correrá to tie it up with 2 outs left. Gallo + olson..........both ground out and I lose 15-15. Easily one of the more frustrating times I’ve had so far.

    We’ll try it again tonight.

I’d say that’s a solid effort man with a lineup full of silvers. Nothing to be ashamed about

I highly recommend doing all the challenges before you take on Verlander; you get better bats, perks and you have to score fewer runs, not mention the stubs, packs and XP rewards. I had a few showdown runs where I entered 15-15 and went deep on the first pitch for the W. It's worth it.

Wow, that is very frustrating.. You already know this but completing as many of the missions as you can before the final showdown is one of the biggest keys. Starting at a score of 4 - 15 is a huge hill to climb. Some can do it which you almost did, but I’m always shooting for 10 to 12 starting the final showdown. Good luck man

So I have completed Torres, Correa and Ohtani. One away from Snell and 2 away from Bell. I have done a lot of these. Early on I skipped to the final and won 2 of 3 that way. Every since this mode has been a chore including starting 12-15 against Cole and losing. There are a several frustrating parts but I think the worst is everyone is a gold glove fielder. 3-2 off speed pitches painting on the corner or the perfect-perfect routine fly balls. Still seems like the best way to build your team though.

Thanks for the feedback + thoughts guys. It definitely is the fastest way to get the FotF guys; I have Soto (nats fan locally) and Olson só hoping to add a few more.

Demise - that Torres seems to be my next target after Gallo. I’ve heard Cole is maybe the toughest (scherzer?). You find Torres worth it?

Man I feel for ya. I've been working on the NL East Team Affinities (Since I had a head start with incredible pack luck that made the NL East collection affordable), and If I play all day I may get one completion, because Scherzer and deGrom are literal cheat codes
