Don't know how people play this competitively online?

Like really I really don't get the thrill of wanting to play this game from a competitive standpoint online. Users input doesn't matter and hasn't mattered for a while. Trying to figure out hitting is like trying to figure out calculus. No matter if you get the same feedback it will be different everytime. I get attributes can factor in this but I think user input should be rewarded more often. Especially Especially Especially when playing the computer. I just can't bring myself to continue to play this game online competitively. I guess I'll continue to watch those youtubers who get paid money to play this game eventhough more than half the time nothing makes sense in this game when it comes to gameplay and user input.

competitive no, but enjoy going against another opponent so I just play online rated and custom leagues. Forget putting in my time and energy in DD only for gameplay to be decided by RNG

I play Pure Analog hitting and pitching. Currently 56-47 in Ranked Seasons with highest rating of 660. Not great, but it's a fair amount of online gameplay experience. I still can not hit. But, in my 100ish games played, I have rarely experienced the bad things that seem to be the focus of most posts here. I have had two freeze offs. One was a critical game for me that I should have gotten the win, but I had to gave in because I wanted to play the game. The other happened on the third out of the bottom of the ninth. I was beat, so I gave in and quit. Otherwise, I do not experience the crappy game play like seems to be so many others' experiences. I think the game is great, AND it does need some fixes for sure. I know. Nobody likes me because I'm not complaining with everybody else. The communication from SDS to it's community about real questions and real issues could improve drastically, which might help minimize the band wagon yelping, and keep focus on the good stuff. Sometimes a little bit of information goes a long way. One answer to your question Swissy is... Practice. And, watch CBrev.

There's no offline competitive community for this game. If you wanted that, you'd have to set up a local scene, and try to standardize rules, while also trying to spread and help create other local communities. I think it COULD work, but it generally needs backing from the game developers(Unless it's Smash, and people just religiously play melee all day every day since the early 2000s)

I really enjoy online rated Hof bat legend pitching . I use Philly. Of course there are clowns and I get sick of the dodgers , Yankees and padres but overall it's fun.
DD I play a little bit of the ranked season but it just doesn't do it for me like online rated. Especially on lower difficulty and all 90s players.
Custom leagues are the most fun imop if yub get a good group of guys.

Freeze offs is where I draw the line. Because people like myself who play competitive will wait days... DAYS FIX IT SDS
