3rd time I've posted this today..

    1. Multiple times developers have said in streams that if you spam secondary pitches you will throw meatballs. This is everything but X.. you NEED to mix it up.

    2. Hit your spots. If you use pitches with low confidence in a spot you haven't been throwing to, good luck to you sir. This is realistic.

    3. If your pitcher confidence or stamina is low and you throw low quality pitches (user input or just low rates pitches) you may get rocked..

Knowing this info will help your game. Or you can be a whiner and complain about it. The choice is yours

    Nice try SDS lackey.

Good one buddy. Thick... Real thick.. never heard that old joke. Might as well call me Ramone, OG

    Nice try, Ramone

People who are complaining are mostly “Meter” pitchers

Playing RS through MLB 17 and 19 I lived and died by my pitching. Although my hitting has improved a lot since my MLBTS 17 days, my pitching is suffering this year. It feels completely random. Constant hanging pitches. If you don’t get your input perfect, it’s a hanger.

What makes it even worse is the called strikes. Numerous borderline calls being called balls. It seems like nearly 50% of the ball has to be in the zone for it to be called.

Is this from all the little Billy’s complaining that no one throws strikes down the heart of the plate?

I don’t even know who to use. Low control are constant hangers. High control you can’t even paint the corners because there’s no called strikes. At this point I’m thinking about grabbing guys like Chapman. Nasty stuff, 0 control and just saying hit it if you can. I know that won’t work, playing against above average players but something should be done.

Expanding the strike zone for called strikes would probably be the best thing for this game right now. I’d love them to revert hitting and fix pitching but I don’t see that happening.

I just struck out a kids first 12 batters of the game then he quit pitching seems fine

I understand all that, and that is how 19 was as well. Again the problem is the edges not being called strikes at a higher rate which forces you to to higher pitch counts because opponents know this and do not have to swing. In a game last night I was down 3-0 Not getting edges called force to throw alot of pitches and in the zone. by the 5th 4-1 i stated this earlier. I gave up trying to actually pitch and just throw the ball like whatever and chose whatever pitch to throw as if pitching does not mater and my opponent did not score again I came back in the 8th and 9th to win the game. I certainly did adapt and I will see if this method is the knew way I should pitch going forward but it is not fun playing that way but whatever it takes right.

Obviously you’re still going to match up with people who can’t hit anything. Doesn’t mean there isn’t an issue.

Was the kid swinging at alot of pitches outside the zone? Were you throwing in the zone? Did you get the edges called for strikes? If so what stadium were you playing in? thank you

That's the spirit. This is a fact of real pitching. Sometimes trying to dot doesn't work and you just have to throw. Anyone who argues this fact knows nothing about ball.

I will agree with that, sometimes you just got to try something different, it is according to how the opponent is playing as well. I knew how my opponent was pitching me with each hitter but my timing sucks, Once I relaxed with the timing I started hitting cause I could sit on his location.

I wish that I could upvote this post at least once for every misplaced complaint I've read on these forums over the years. My trackpad might burn out if I could do that, though... so perhaps it's best that I'm not able to do so.

the problem with pitching this year was that primary pitches with good/perfect releases were hanging or missing completely as well, I know because I was aware of the secondary pitch anti-spam mechanism so I was using primary pitches more than secondary pitches, even though I think that its counterproductive in a competitive sense. Far to many primary pitches were hanging in my opinion, your experience may be different, but that's what I was experiencing every game.

Isn’t a non secondary pitch a primary pitch?

    @Nanthrax_1 said in Pitching impossible?:

Don't spam non secondary pitches. It's what the developers talked about in multiple streams. It's the secret of pitching. Which I agree, shouldn't be a secret..
