was this a good idea? because idk if they'll go up in price like they did before
update: sold all the cards and now have 260k stubs. I had 15 stubs last night
-
Not sure if they will go up quite as much since you had new users that weren't aware of how the program worked last year. I'd say more held on, however their are still plenty of shortsighted people who will scramble or those who'd didn't bother to do all the Moments and will want to just purchase outright. Golds and Silvers are usually a good investment, they are really just as valuable to the collection as the diamonds are and they are no easier to obtain.
-
I have a couple of extra diamonds, but I didn't invest heavily. To be honest, I feel like the cat is out of the bag. A lot of new players didn't realize they needed those cards for the monthly collection the first time and they screwed themselves by selling them off at near quick sell value. Then there was a mad rush to buy them back.
Since this is now the second monthly award, I don't think as many people did that. Plus, since the values shot up so high last time there were a lot more people this time buying up stock. Maybe the prices go up a bit, but I could also see them go down as all the investors try to undercut each other on hundreds of cards in stock.
-
Not sure because everyone now knows they are needed for the collection. I think the market is going to be completely flooded with people trying to get rid of thier investments

If you attempt to make stubs through the market you may not want to come on an open forum to announce your strategy. You could have potentially just sunk yourself whether tipping people into buying the cards now, doing the moments or trying to invest like you did.

Probably not they historically give away packs of topps now cards in the POTM program. I even saw a You tuber say not to invest in topps now.

I don't think it's really possible to lose a tremendous amount of stubs by investing in them but the profits won't be as high as last month. That being said I simply bought 1 of each so I'm guaranteed stubs from selling off the ones I get in the program

This was my approach as well

I think the best time to invest is wge. They first come out. They will probably go up a little bit still but for example a few weeks ago I bought a handful of Anthony Rizzos for 800 stubs and the other day sold him for the max order of 5000 so some of them have already maxed out. Diamonds will probably go up a few thousand but silver and gold are lost stubs
-
They do or they don’t. Whatever is going to happen will happen. What’s the point of the question?
-
Best bet is buying these cards when the market is low. Many of the extra TN diamond players I bought at different times for less than 6500k because of inventory sell offs such as during things like the flash sale.
-
Bad idea, they're all free if you complete all the moments. Not a single stub has to be spent in the POTM program.

Think this is right. My only investment was the time to complete the moments.

This
I think people thinking its going to be as profitable as last month are gonna be in for a disappointment. They have already dropped in price from last night to this morning

They may go up right away because YouTubers will pay to have all the cards right away so they can try and discover the card.
Then again, they may have already bought them and everyone else just kept and will grind the cards. I’d just sell now.
-
Still an easy investment but your timing was a bit off, I got a heap just about two weeks ago all under 2,000 so it’s easy money when they go to 6,000. I have 20 Rizzo+Kirk that we’re less than 1,000 as well.

I believe that you are about 3 weeks too late to invest in topps now cards. You could have bought the golds when they were 1500-1700 but I believe because the Lightning is a 96 and not a huge name demand won't be there. I think the cards stay around 4k and don't go crazy. Don't get me wrong I want them to go to 12k I have 180 of them but realistically I don't think they have much room to go up.
-
I've got about the same or a little more invested, but I bought most as they hit the market for a third if what they are going for now. I won't lose stubs, especially on the silvers and golds. I could quick sell my silvers now and break even.

i bought 30 travis Shaws and 20 Gavin Lux cards weeks ago so I think those will definetely pay off
