How come SDS spends money to get the rights to players that will not be used by many? (Grady Sizemore)

Also inning programs have not been good this year so far. Not a single boss yet where I'm like I have to use him.

Last year they first dropped the gods in the 5th inning program. If I'm not mistaking, that's the program where they dropped Larry Walker and Mariano Rivera and I forgot who the 3rd guy was, but yeah. Let's not forget the game is only 2 months out.

My question is why do they spend the money to get the rights to players no one will use?

That's going to be the best Grady Sizemore we get all year and he sucks.

I don't really see the issue, I like the variety. How fun is it to have the same 3 outfielders in your squad each and every year? The more players the better imo.

I like the variety as well but how come SDS is just so obsessed with matching real life splits? They could have made Grady Sizemore have better contact vs lefties.

Because people will complain about it not reflecting his career performance objectively. People will complain regardless, this thread is a perfect example of that. No offense towards you personally by the way, just trying to say that this community is never happy.

It's a video game. It's ok to make players a bit better than they were in real life.

Was anybody dancing in there living room cause Huston Street came out?

Actually yes, lots of people were/are excited about Houston Street. Lots of people also love Sizemore. See, people are all different. I hate Chipper and Ortiz, I have zero interest in getting either of them, and I refuse to lock in stubs for them.

Other people sold their youngest child and sacrificed their careers for those cards. It's fine, let people play with who they want 🙂

It's almost as if there are fans of all teams and said fans want to play as their favorite players. Shocking...

It’s a team building game mode so I’m sure Cleveland fans love the fact they dropped a prime Grady Sizemore.. it’s not always about pumping up your god squad with every card release

I'm a Cleveland fan and that card will never be in my inventory. They only Cleveland card I'd like to see is big Albert.

I guess that's settles it. You speak for all Cleveland fans. Get rid of Grady SDS.

Who cares. Just don't use the card and move on. Ralph Kiner has been in the game for 5 years and no one has used him. But most of us like the variety of options. Can't stand these posts. Just wait for Griffey, Mantle, and Mays and don't say anything if you care that much

This doesn’t make much sense. Obviously there are only so many legends out there, and there are a good number SDS will never get the rights to for whatever reason. Adding in new guys every year is fun and necessary to keep the game fresh. Personally I’m glad to see a guy like Grady. I’m also glad they don’t just magically make him into a better player than he ever was.

I used Kiner in previous years. His swing and speed isnt great so other people dont use him. Same thing with Bench. You can have all the variety you want, but all anyone cares about is swing animation and, to a lesser extent speed.

That's true. People don't use bench pretty much exclusively because of his swing. But from what I hear Sizemore's swing is nuts. The only reason he remotely seems bad is because most of the top pitchers right now are lefties

I never said or implied that Sizemore is bad. He seems accurately portrayed. Hes just not my preferred type of player. I'm sure you know due to our previous discussions on this subject, that I prefer playing with HOF and genuinely great players. Others prefer playing with cards with better attributes and swing animations, regardless of authenticity. Just different types of users.

PS: I'm still salty at what they did to Gehrigs card, and his historically great postseason performance.

I understand. And I agree really. People like to use all sorts of different cards. I just can't stand the old "this card sucks where are the good cards at" posts like the OP is lol.

its so early man, people complain like this post, people would complain too many 99s or people complain a good legend for instance a mariano or mickey is a 92 overall and isnt useable in a month.

I was stoked about Street. Some people (like myself) run theme teams all year so the variety is awesome. Just because you’re not using them doesn’t mean others don’t want to.
