Officiated completely on point with zero so called mistakes by the umps? This isn’t March to October where they make random calls right? I wish there was only a way I could send the video on here especially since this isn’t the first time. How are they calling very OBVIOUS balls which clearly are bouncing on the foul side of the base lines fair balls!

You would need to upload the video to YouTube or something and then link to it.

Did the ball land foul before or after the base, and did it land fair before going foul?

I ve seen a few of these.the ball most likely went over top of the base in the air before landing in foul territory which is a fair ball.

Fun fact: that's completely irrelevant to fair or foul boundary calls. It is only IF THE BALL CROSSES OVER THE BAG in fair territory, so yes a chopper can land "foul" past the bag but is fair as long as part of the ball is over the bag

If the ball hit the ground fair and goes over the bag at first or 3rd then lands foul it's considered fair, but if it's a line drive that doesn't hit the ground fair at any point before the 1st/3rd base bag...the it's foul

almost.in the air in fair territory not close to the bag then slices and lands in foul territory it would be foul. but if at any point the ball travels directly over the 1st or 3rd base bag its fair no matter where it lands.

That’s not true at all. It absolutely depends on where the ball lands.

I had to look this up. They’re right: If the ball hits fair (say, as it leaves the bat with a chopper) before it passes 1st (or 3rd) and then curves foul AFTER passing 1st (or 3rd) it’s fair.

So if you hit a roller toward 3rd for example and it caught some big bounce upward and shot up in the air before third base and landed foul but traveled directly over 3rd base in the process, it would be fair.

Exactly this...I was a carded umpire in my late teens, early 20's and the ball definitely has to hit fair before the bag. If not anyone who hits a fly ball that starts fair and hooks foul just missing the foul pole for a homerun, would get a ground rule double and that is just not the case.

Fun fact: I know the rules of baseball. When he is catching the ball while it is still in foul territory it is obviously suppose to be a foul ball.

Not on a chopper that went over the bag. The fielder has no bearing on the call
