I haven’t tried to add my guy as DD pitcher yet, but maybe your “Active” load out has to be a pitching archetype?

My issue with my player in DD right now is that he’s showing up as a 65 overall first baseman (which is what he was when I first added him into the lineup), but my active load out is currently an 81 overall. It’s frustrating because I have a handful of first basemen that or rated higher so he’s no basically unusable, even with equipment and perks.

Are you attempting to use "The Big Train" archtype? For whatever reason that one is currently bugged. There is however a workaround. Simply make a 2nd loadout with any other Relief pitcher archtype. Load that one as your primary and activate it on the right side of screen, then you can select him as a RP. If you want him as a starter, load a starter archtype, it can even be just bronze, you're not loading the 2nd archtype to actually use it, you're loading it to allow you to select your CAP at the roster location of your choice. Once you've selected the loadout that will allow him to appear in the roster spot you want, you can then go to your player and load the archtype you WANT to use and it will still have him in the DD roster spot you chose.

Assuming he's a 2 way player you have to first make sure he is on his pitcher loadout in RTTS.
Then you can go in DD to replace one of your starters and he will be an option.
