I can't believe these baserunning mistakes the computer makes me do

See guys?, now you know why I use the term casual noobs? To the OP, how am I able to control my base runners totally fine and you aren't?. Maybe its cause I've practiced enough and learned how to do it?..are you the type of gamer that wants their hands held with everything you play? Or maybe I got a different copy of The Show from you?. Stop complaining, put your hot pocket down and go practice!!!

I think baserunning attributes like baserunning aggressiveness play more of a role. Maybe low agg means less responsiveness to baserunning commands? I’m not saying there aren’t bugs in baserunning but I do see baserunning attributes having a larger impact than years past aside from just their speed attribute

Hey I was just hoping there was somewhere that explained the intricacies of the method. Just seems inconsistent. And I don't believe you. You probably don't have enough baserunners to experience these issues.

Okay noob sauce, I've basically played this game religiously for the past 6 years except for last year for different reasons. Here's your problem, You Don't Play This Game Enough...once you do you'll get good. . Get your noob $hit together and practice and you'll get better and maybe you'll thank me in the end.

Don’t mind him he’s a troll; but back on your topic, online for some games it doesn’t respond well; if you can, avoid using R1/L1 as much as possible. If there’s a bit of lag, your runners will either turn at the base and continue running, or they’ll just stop at 3rd and never go home. The most annoying one I’ve had is manually making the runner on 2nd base go home and he’ll slide at 3rd?? There’s also the obvious gaper that the AI will freeze your runners 3 feet from the bag waiting for the ball to land as if it had a chance to be caught, but on a routine flyball to CF they’ll be about 2/3 of the way over before it’s caught. But the L1/R1 online is definitely to be avoided; takes practice especially with the bases loaded.

Well that's a totally different thing if you're gonna say online play, I don't play online obviously cause like what nantrics said or whatever his name is is that I'm an offline elite. Offline the game plays like a gem, you can control everything...this year's game is basically a dream for offline play so I have no idea what you online casuals are experiencing. Its just hard to believe that offline and online the game mechanics are so different...like if you're using classic base-running you basically just use to directional stick to highlight the runner and press the face buttons to advance to the base, or use the left trigger button to advance all runners or right trigger button to retreat all runners. Its in the actual help section people, use it!. If this is completely different for online play then I'm totally talking outta my @$$ but I find it hard to believe its any different.

Even if you do everything perfectly, the game screws you sometimes, In my last BR game I'm up against a World Series player with Al Leiter on the mound. I get a leadoff single with 99 Jackie Robinson. He advances to 2nd on an out made by Jesse Winkler. Next at bat 42 series Ketel Marte hits a single to left. It isn't super deep, but 99 Jackie can take home easily so I move the analog stick to 3rd and tell him to head for home. He's safe easily. Marte for some reason runs to second and is out by a mile. I never hit L1 or R1. I never selected that runner. There is no reason for him to have run to second, but the game decided to send him. It's an out and the rally is killed. LS Kyle Seager flies out to end the inning
I ended up losing 3-1. I may have lost anyway. My opponent was good and Leiter is tough to hit, but it is pretty [censored] frustrating when the game decides to take decisions out of your hands like that.

Love these “I practice video games to git Gus” tough guy posts. True winner here.

My biggest issue is CPU baserunners have a complete inability to read a ball that is going to fall in. It is absurd that that a guy will freeze on second on a ball hit 410 feet to the notch at PNC park.

That's the key to majority of the complaints on here. Practice and learn the game. Tired of everything being called a bug or a glitch.

Ok what do you call this: I hit an easy double and hold down L1 and thought it was OK to let go of it after the runner had taken like 8 or 9 steps towards second after rounding first. Dude stops and goes back to first.
So either there's some touchy margins where you need to keep it held till a certain distance away from the base and then let go before they turn the next base, or it's a bug or a glitch. If it's not a glitch then the game should at least explain the technicalities somewhere.
Either way I just quit using the stupid L1. -

Either way I just quit using the stupid L1.I still call it user error. When you use terms such as "I thought it was ok to let go of it" "runner took 8 or 9 steps towards second then turned back" are indicators that that you don't know how to use it, so therefore it's safe to assume it's user error and not bug or glitch.

I’m gonna back @SCHaCK-NizzLE_XBL on this one. There is no safe way to use L1 to advance runners. It’s not built for accurately controlling multiple runners with different speeds. Best decision you ever made SCHaCK was to ditch L1. Now make another wise decision and switch to classic baserunning. Ditch default
I agree with you Grizz that it’s not a bug or glitch though. It’s doing the best that it can with a single button.

Yep you really can't use L1 to advance runners online, lag can cause some issues.. I generally use L1 to start advancing my runners but then use the analog to select them and use the face buttons to tell them which base to stop at. it takes some practice to get used to but once you figure it out you will stop having these issues

Question i am wondering is are they using the L Stick along with L1 to designate which runner? All i keep reading is L1 doesn't work. L1 doesn't work by itself never has unless referring to just a single runner.
