Ranked seasons pci and difficulty

So I believe it has switched last year where the higher difficulty takes precedent. However, I've noticed in my last couple of matches I have been the lower ranked player in the 600's so allstar difficulty and my opponent in the 700's so HOF. Only thing is, my PCI looks very small, so HOF and my opponents PCI looks bigger so allstar. Is this a bug or something or WTF?

He is pressing contact swing button instead of normal. It’s not a bug, just your opponent using contact swing on HOF for the bigger PCI.

I used contact swing and it seemed like it was normal. I'm starting to thing those fat PCI with good timing and 500 ft bombs are the Zen. But that's just a theory.

And by normal I mean it felt like a contact swing and resulted in contact results.
