It's so weird but I can't hit with him. Just playing offline all my other guys are over .400 with a HR every 4-6 ABs but I'm hitting .340 with him with a HR every 11 ABs or something. Ernie Banks has a swing that is harder to hit HRs also but still has a plus .400 avg for me.
Soriano has been the most disappointing card I think I've ever used, hitting wise atleast. Especially with his attributes. It's like they nerfed him. CPU pitchers definitely pitch to him but still, I am patient and it doesn't make a difference. Anyone else??
I mean just looking at the feedback sooo many other of my guys hit HRs on balls that he pops up or grounds out. Soo few balls are hit with good contact it's crazy.
On the other hand, guys that have met or exceeded my expectations are Buxton (ridiculous) and Finley. Both of them hit balls all the time that shouldn't be HRs but are lol. The opposite of Soriano for me. I never liked Banks' swing either but I'm still using him.

He has a long swing. Alot of the top players have him on the bench as well. He’ll be fine vs lefties but has a hard time turning on pitches inside vs righties.

I actually swapped him back for Goodrum at 2B. Keep him on my bench for lefties

Fwiw, most of my guys are over .350, 2 are still over .400 and only 2 are below .300. Those are Finley (.285) and Soriano (.220)

Ok thanks guys, I appreciate it. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy. I have him at 2nd but will bench him to hit lefties or pinch run I guess.

I had keston level 3 hitting at 397 in 85 at bats and replace him with soriano. Thinking real hard about going with keston again.

I have a hard time with his swing vs R. I use Tatis at SS and leave Jackie at 2b. he has great speed and is a great bench bat vs LHP. I hit great vs CPU but in RS Soriano just doesn't make the starting lineup.

But how many ABs? Sometimes you just get a bad string of at bats, or try too hard with a card you were waiting to get. I’m also getting used to him, but he is connecting for me often enough to keep trying. And then I have Chipper, who is hitting like .600 for me in his first dozen games, but no homers. That won’t last either.

Stick with Soriano, take a pitch or two each AB, it may turn around.

I definitely used him enough to tell, atleast 100 ABs. Low avg and no power other than a lucky oppo HR now and then, and can't hit inside pitches to save his life..
I just benched Ernie Banks too, just a terrible swing for the game when every other guy is a HR machine.

Ernie is hitting over .500 for me through around 40 AB’s and I think almost half his hits are bombs for me. A lot against righties too. Something about his swing really let’s me turn on inside sinkers

It’s weird, some players can’t hit their weight for me, let alone their stats (Miggy, Ripken, Sandberg). But some people can hit great with them. I need guys with really quick swings. My best hitter last year was 96 Ellsbury. And POTM Mondesi and Gregorius were probably #2 and #3.

I notice most people have Soriano on the bench when I play collection teams every game.

Ortiz is by far the most annoying player to pitch against.

He started coming around for me lately but I’ve been close to benching him a few times. Him playing second always saved him but now that my CAP is closing in on max that won’t be the case for long. He will be the first of the 99s benched more than likely.

Yeah I think I need a quick swing. My CAP is using Gleyber Torres' swing who I raked with for awhile before benching because he is a silver card. I also crush with MA Buxton, Acuna, Finley, Ramirez, Realmuto and just realizing Tatis hits well above his weight especially against righties. All have quick swings IMO. Bellinger has a loopy swing but it's also easy to golf low balls for HRs.

I started using contact swing only with Soriano and he’s finally getting hits. When I first got him I only used normal and couldn’t hit a [censored] fly on the wall

Yeah, I was batting in the 100s with him for a while, but I’m starting to get better with him I’m around 280 now.

Soriano is coming around for me it seems like. Finley has been trash for me and so has Mike Piazza. Luckily I pulled Adley Rutschman out of a Space Pack so I have been using him at catcher. It is a big plus that he is a switch hitter.
