Do they ever upgrade pitch characteristics for Live series cards during the roster updates?
-
I was wondering if they ever update the velocity, control and break for pitchers when they do roster updates for Live series cards? For example, as Chapman continues to use his splitter and get good results with it, will any of the values for that pitch change? Or for someone like Tyler Glasnow (who is 95% in FB velocity) will his Velo stat get moved up from 89? I guess part of my question is how are these pitch characteristics figured out. It seems they tend to stay pretty constant like fielding stats for position players, but I was wondering if anyone had any insight on this.

Velo is something I’ve seen them update, but it only happens for extreme stuff. Like when crochet for the white Sox came up they upgraded his velo. I haven’t noticed any changes to break and control, but they update bb/9 which I think is close to control. It’d be nice if they changed them but I understand it’d be difficult to measure and update every pitchers individual pitch

This is the first year we are getting visual descriptions of velocity, control, and break on a per pitch basis. I would not be surprised if stat updates and per pitch tweaks are on the table based upon performance.
