Franchise only players - do you buy the game every year? why?

Seems to me if you don't play DD you really have no need to buy the game every year... what am I missing?

I have been buying it every year myself, but the last couple years I have seriously considered not doing it. However, SDS has done a couple of things the past couple years to bring me back. Hopefully they continue that trend of improving franchise every year

roster update basically
i had hoped for new gen they would provide a way to decrease # of games played from 162 in franchise. Or let us have control of # of innings played during a franchise game. Nope.
At least bring season mode back where we had the option to select # of games played in a season.

Why do you need a roster update if playing franchise mode?
I bought FIFA21 and since I don't play FUT, I can just play this version for the next 5 years until there are enough changes to justify the purchase of the new game. -
Well, every year SDS leads us to believe that they fixed all the grievances we have with the mode. So, I buy the game every year hoping this is going to be the year Franchise is going to be AMAZING. Of course in reality, there's always a ton that needs to be fixed and the "waiting for the patch" game begins.
I'm beginning to think this is a rope-a-dope tactic to squeeze out more sales. IDK, but I haven't bought a Madden game in 7 or 8 years and a FIFA game in 5. NHL is my weakness but, MLB is the next for me to boycott.

I actually didnt buy this year's game and I only play franchise. I cant wrap my head around paying full price just to make CAPs (that's my specialty) when MLB 20 is fine for that. The biggest flag was not being able to transfer rosters from last year. I've been working on my all-time teams roster for franchise for 6 years now, no way I'm letting that go just to buy a new game. Especially since SDS doesnt care about franchise, which we all know already
