But more than likely he will go into the summer collection for the 99 card, I spent around 600k to finish the affinity last year to get trout so i don't think having a 99 Jackie who could easily be used all year for up to 400k is bad at all, Considering we will most likely get free 42 legend packs sooner or later which will lower price to 200k or less, I honestly wont mind spending 150k for a 99 jackie speed, contact, enough power probally going be one of the best lead off right handed batters in the game.

I think the main issue is that when he becomes affordable for most players, there's more than likely going to be much better options over him. Especially if people are focusing on the live series collection and especially the National League. Soriano will be a better option than Jackie no matter what. At that point, the only reason to spend the stubs on Jackie is if you really love him or there's a big collection mid-game.

Theres going be upgrades all year but when they release better players they are going to be harder to get than jackie tbh, If they ever release the 42 legend packs as rewards for affinity season 2 you can get jackie free over time which isn't bad eventually i hope to get soriano but i love spending stubs on packs like an addiction lol

I got lucky, a glitch opening weekend gave me my preorder stuff twice, so I got 4 42 legends pack and then the free one for the server issues. I only need Mays to have all the legend 42 players.

As a NMS player it's going to be a grind but gives me something to shoot for. It's much harder for me to find the time it's going to require to get him than to find the stubs. I realized it's probably a good idea to buy his 88 and use it while checking off the TA content so I can figure out if I even like his swing.

You will. Jackie has consistently been one of the best cards in the came the past few years. He's fast, can play a handful of positions competently, and he's got sneaky decent pop. I'm just hoping that some more 42 legend packs come out so their prices go down so he's a little more affordable, but I've been slowly working my way towards him.

Same, sold off all the sellable ones I had. Waiting for prices to drop to finish

It’s funny how so many people are planning ahead to get the collection card when we don’t even know who it will be yet.

Honus was great but he wasn’t someone you HAD to have.

Unless it’s a player you really love IRL, it’s not even close to worth it. There are plenty of options at every position, especially by that time.

Honus was 100% worth it in 19. Elite contact, good power, good swing and played pretty much everywhere but 2nd Base and Catcher. Not only that, he was actually not too bad to get in 19 because you could just quick-sell the diamonds you had to lock in right after so you actually could get some stubs back. Honus was end game.

Trout was also end game in 20, but that wasn't nearly as hard of a collection to complete. You could plug other outfielders in, but he was so good and so worth it.

Yeah...Honus was absolutely worth it. You forgot his amazing speed as well. Trout was also so amazing. I don't know who it'll be this year, but building on Honus and Trout, I gotta imagine it'll be Aaron, Mays, Pedro, or JD Drew (obviously kidding on the last one).

As A Braves fan I still regret us trading Adam Wainwright when he was in the minors for 1 year of JD Drew. He had is best year by far with us, but now worth losing the career of Wainwright.

Was just about to say exchanging Wainwright would be among the requirements to unlock JD.

To be fair, Wainwright never looked great in the minors. The Braves probably felt they had a bust of a first rounder on their hands.

I agree. All I hear about is this grand collection coming and how I should save every card and every stub because the grand collection is coming. It reminds me of all the times "winter is coming" was said on game of thrones lol

They were both top tier cards for sure but especially with the way the parallels work this year, there will be a lot of players at least comparable. If it’s Phil Niekro (please no) then I definitely think it’s worth it, otherwise it’s whoever you like really.

I mean...it'll almost certainly be a card worthy of being in an endgame lineup. But by the end of the season, there'll be plenty of cards like that. I easily could've bumped Trout from my lineup last year, there were so many great options (Awards Yelich, Awards Griffey, Finest Soto, etc.)

I'll do it because I enjoy finishing collections, but I wouldn't fault anyone for not wanting to do so.
