Anyone else noticing extreme lag online?

I played two event games and the lag has been unplayable. My download speed is 122.7 Mbps and upload is 33.7 Mbps. After I throw a pitch the pitch meter and graphics do not display for about 2-3 seconds. This is as bad as I have ever seen it. Anyone else seeing an issue?
Depends on the game tbh.
I have games where it’s seamless and games where it does as you describe.

People that have been on here for a while know I have complained about connection issues for a long time. I finally got rid of my fiber network box and bought a really good router. Game has played much better for me this year so I guess I need to eat some crow and apologize to SDS for the many threads I have posted.
With that out of the way, I would try power cycling your router. Unplug for 30 seconds and plug it back in. If you have a modem/router combo from your isp, that could be the issue. I would get rid of that if possible imo. You may also need to check your router settings.
Wow. I applaud you on that response demise...
And glad it's working better for you these daysWell when I logged off tonight I was at 974 rating and I think number 304 in the WS rank. Knew there was an underlying issue why I flat couldn't make WS last year and struggled to make it in 19. I think 17 or 18 I made it with an all gold lineup. I do struggle hitting on legend but pitch speeds are super fast, I tend to not focus like I need to and I am old. Have really enjoyed playing this year for the first time in several years. I knew something was wrong just couldn't figure it out. I've had a few games where the pitches warp but I'll take those compared to what I have been through in the past.

Thank you... I am going to buy a new router. I hope that helps. I am IT guy, but I have don't have a strong background in routers/switches.
How is that possible? Routers and switches are the base for IT...

yeah because kids keep playing in unplayable stadiums.. Don't pick mlb parks or parks that have a ton to render and the lag will go away. Pick shippet, oak park, iron horse, and few others.

What’d you end up getting? Was thinking about getting a solid one myself as I’m still running my ISP’s router. The wifi signal starts getting very weak in the basement. I’ve seen a few of the Netgear ones where you kinda have extenders that come with it. Pretty expensive at 200-300$ but wonder if worth it

You absolutely should not be playing any online game over WiFi, try everything possible to get hardwired. I’m not aware of any WiFi router, switch, extender, or repeater that will give you a consistent enough connection to get rid of the lag. Not trying to be a [censored], just making a recommendation based on experience.

This is exactly my situation, and trust me, you should hardwire. And it's easy.
My wife uses wifi for her casting tv, iPad for yoga, or just cable tv which is wifi too now. Son with his switch.. even more reason to get off WiFi with it being heavily used.Best way to do it is running a cable to your ps5 of course. But if that's not possible, get a powerline. Runs through your electrical outlets and costs $50. It's 10 times better than wifi and super stable. Clean too. I used to get so many disconnects and lag in this game..
Got a powerline in 2018, and never had one since. At least not on my end where I take the loss...
No lag either. -

So if I understand correctly, you plug it in a power outlet close to your router and connect both with an ethernet cable. From there, take your other device and plug in in another outlet where you want it to expand to?
Another ethernet cable to my PS5 I’m guessing?

Yup you got it. It sounds too good to be true, I know. I couldn't believe nobody told me about it earlier myself. But it works amazingly

Yup you can. You can also get an ethernet hub if you wanted to, to run multiple cables. I do in my basement to my ps5, PC, and big screen. Works like a charm. Keeps wifi for the portable things only

When you have an internet provider that gives you equipment, it could very well be conflicting with whatever your router is. Most humans can't fix that in their own because you lease that modem from your provider.

I got an Asus RT-AX3000. Pretty sure it was $300 but well worth it imo. You may have to look into a repeater or mesh system for your basement wifi issues.

For today's technology as an example, I'm a jack of all trades, and only a master of legacy coding.
I do know enough about everything to contribute to conversations and also diagnose issues.
When you have an internet provider that gives you equipment, it could very well be conflicting with whatever your router is. Most humans can't fix that in their own because you lease that modem from your provider.
This. I am in IT support. I do not work with networks and stuff. I have learned a lot about routers, networks and such in the several years I have dealt with these connection issues. They are beyond frustrating. Makes the game much less enjoyable.
Google fiber finally started allowing people to use their own router. In order to do this before you had to pretty much be a network engineer. Once they did this I cancelled my google TV and got rid of the network box. The fiber jack is the modem.

People that have been on here for a while know I have complained about connection issues for a long time. I finally got rid of my fiber network box and bought a really good router. Game has played much better for me this year so I guess I need to eat some crow and apologize to SDS for the many threads I have posted.
With that out of the way, I would try power cycling your router. Unplug for 30 seconds and plug it back in. If you have a modem/router combo from your isp, that could be the issue. I would get rid of that if possible imo. You may also need to check your router settings.
Thank you... I am going to buy a new router. I hope that helps. I am IT guy, but I have don't have a strong background in routers/switches.
How is that possible? Routers and switches are the base for IT...
There are varying segments in the IT industry. Some people code. Some people manage servers and cloud based data. Some people are strictly hardware, and even so, hardware folks don't always know everything about routers, modems, switches etc.

That's because the term is misleading; some are informaticians/computer engineers. IT usually refers to the networking side of computers. Coding usually refers to programmers. For example, I used to (among other things) program layer2 or 3 switches through command lines at work and code HTML pages for the fun of it at home, but I would never consider myself a programmer. I agree all the people you point to as examples can be part of an IT department; but if someone tells me he's an IT guy, I expect him to be able to entertain me on such topics as subnets and VLANs...
