So when you get to an MLB team do the other players on the team actually improve? I'm guess there is no way to make moves or adjust the roster right?

Other players will progress in their careers as well. Once you started your career, you have zero control on the roster, it's all managed by your "GM".

There 2 things you can do :

    • Play Franchise mode and "lock yourself" playing only your player. It's not RTTS anymore but you can sort of play a Career and manage everything.
    • You can alter the roster prior starting your career by editing the roster of the game and when you start a new RTTS Save, you can choose to play with your custom roster. Once again though you are at the mercy of your CPU GM since you have no control, just like in real life a player isn't controling the roster of his team...

Quick tip : always Carry a 2nd backup save of your RTTS Career. It helps a lot when your GM decide to trade your best prospect for aging 70something Ov players... Always roll a backup every 2 weeks. If there's a weird moove, reload a previous save and hope your GM won't repeat his mistakes. ** Or there's the option to adjust Trade slider in setting but you'll be penalized with your XP...

Isn’t it only 50% XP for changing gameplay sliders only? Thought they said in the one update that any non gameplay sliders could be changed with no penalty

I read that also but when you alter any sliders, even if it's non-gameplay sliders, the XP Penalty message still pops-up. (We'd need someone else to test/confirm if XP Penalty is still applying or not)

To be honest, the mode is SO broken, I've started 4 different saves but I stopped playing them after 10 games... It's buggy, the UI/UX is terrible, the loadouts selection/confirmation inbetween games introduces lots of pop-up menu and ruins the fluidity of the User Experience... Loadouts are a bad idea badly executed. (Unsolicited personal opinion)

You know, as an xbox player I was so looking forward to playing this (a baseball game) after always seeing the RTTS youtube videos, but ya its not been one of the better executed games i've played. Nor was it the experince I was thinking I was going to get. Really bumm-ed about the only 1 ballplayer thing and or not being able to delete your ballplayer and start over.

My sons ballplayer has a 24 overall and just ruins the exp of playing the game.

Nope, Arch and perks were all put on. He did have a glitch where his ovr went 99 when he was still on bronze but then shot down to 24. I think initially when he started it was around the 55-60 area, when you first start.

Really Sorry... For RTTS I still fire up my Ps4 and play RTTS20 which was really great...

Anyway, RTTS20 is exactly the same experience, the same graphics but the bad design idea of 2021 aren't there... I think the Loadouts/archetype is a terrible idea, i don't play 2 way players, I always skip the podcast anyway and I love to have more than one player... So RTTS20 is 100 times better anyway...

Yes I’m trying to grab a PS5 so I can tryout 20. Buying a PS4 just seems like a waste.
